slowly building up the timeline for my Dess Holiday design, for mostly selfish reasons (i adore Dess so much it's unhealthy at this point)
while i see the fandom has collectively agreed on her general demeanor and state of dress, i'm trying to capture the nuances of my own depiction of her.
the pipeline from rebellious teenager to young adult who still has a lot of emotional baggage to unpack is real shit. i'm not doing the best job at showing it yet but oh well. having fun along the way.
wearing earrings depicting the Delta Rune, to flipping them upside down when she's been disillusioned to her beliefs and the world at large, and spiraling in angst. she'd just wear them now cus she thinks it makes her look tough. some real "If the Roaring is real, I'll see you there" shit
maybe she'd be brunette, maybe she'd be blonde, but I see her dyeing her hair on the regular. like a lot. to the point I'd consider making her hair different colors in every drawing, (even in-between comic panels if i ever get that far in my brainrot) if the jet-black hair with red streaks didn't go hard af.
and we'll see how many MOTHER/Earthbound references I can sneak in with each drawing.
