hi! I hope u doing well (sorry, english isn't my first language, maybe my words or sentences kinda makes your head hurts, lol...)
I just play one of your vns (dawn of the damned) and I really really love the story and CGs. I felt grateful to stumbled upon this game.
Its kinda spoiler spoiler for those who haven't play the peak game..
Its kinda silly.. but I don't really understand about "You're the damned" one. Like, so, Aurora is Morgen? Or half of morgen's souls in Aurora?? And aurora transferred Morgan's souls into player's body? My brain just a bit slow and need help.. T^T sorry, if some of my words offended you! Have a nice day..
Hey hey! No worries at all :3 Your English is perfectly fine ^-^
The funny thing is, a lot of people who have English as a second, third, etc. language, actually speak/write it better than many people who have English as a first language these days!! x3
Thanks so much for playing Dawn of the Damned ^-^ So glad to hear you enjoyed it :3
I might get some details wrong, as it's been a long time since I wrote the story, but I will still try to answer.
You understand better than you think, because what you said is pretty much right :D
Aurora is technically Morgen, but in one of many new bodies she's been forced into over the years x3 But it's not 100% original Morgen, if that makes sense. Because every time there is a transfer to a new body, more of Morgen's soul gets lost among fragments of other people's souls.
Aurora has part of Morgen in her, but she's mainly a mixture of lots of different souls who were victims of Damme and the curse over time x3 Basically a host for a whole bunch of angry spirits who just want to be free.
Because of the deal Damme made with Schrat, Morgen is technically immortal (in spirit, because bodies decay >.<) And because Schrat is a trickster, it means Damme never gets 100% of Morgen back, just bits and pieces >.<
The process to transfer Morgen's spirit into a suitable new body requires Morgen's new body/vessel to share the cursed name of "Dawn". You share the name, you share the curse.
The "You are the Damned" ending is only supposed to occur if you name your MC one of the "cursed" names.
Cursed names are pretty much the word "Dawn" in various languages.
If you pick a cursed name, you are doomed from the beginning of the game, no matter what choices are made x3 Aurora/Morgen would have known from the job application submitted to work at the antiques shop that MC was a suitable vessel for Morgen.
Morgen/Aurora basically takes MC's body as her new body as a way to try and escape from Damme. However, while Aurora runs off with MC's body, MC's spirit is transferred to a mannequin that Aurora prepared according to the ritual, so technically, Aurora/Morgen escapes, and MC becomes the new Morgen, trapped with Damme.
But regardless of whether you have a cursed name or not, Damme and Aurora/Morgen are planning to use MC as part of the ritual x3 Even if MC is not usable as a vessel cos they don't share the cursed name, their blood can still be used to fuel the ritual >.<
There is an ending where it's possible to escape if you don't have a cursed name for MC, but it's more of a troll sorta ending than canon x3
But yeah, when Morgen ends up in a new body, fragments of the previous owner of the body remain. So every time Morgen is revived in a new body, her spirit sorta fuses with fragments of other people's spirits, slowly changing her overall as a person. All the spirits get kinda mixed up together over time.
And Aurora/Morgen has had so many new bodies by the time she meets MC, that she has quite a lot of other spirits attached to hers, and is pretty bitter about the whole situation in general x3 Damme has become so twisted by that point, that he can't even see how much pain he's causing to Aurora/Morgen, he's more just focused on keeping her trapped with him forever >.<
When I eventually write Morgen and Damme into Darling Duality, I want them to almost be at war with each other, haha. So the player will need to pick a side.
I would say that the actual canon ending for the game is ending 02 "Sacrifice".
So MC is just killed for the ritual, and Aurora/Morgen remains trapped with Damme, but in a new body.
At least, that's the ending that I plan to continue from when writing them into Darling Duality eventually :3
I hope that helped :D I'm not very good at explaining things, so I'm sorry if that's still kinda confusing >.<
You have absolutely nothing to apologise for anyhow! Thanks so much for checking out the game + taking the time to ask an awesome question ^-^
Happy New Year! Hope 2026 turns out amazingly for you :3
