HIIIII thank you for asking me this. Big grin. I will do my best to answer. If the explanations get weird, just know that trying to capture how I interpret the gender of some of the Sinners is a bit Difficult. It’s like trying to put wind in a jar. They’re all either outside of the binary or gender apathetic or both, but i only listed the ones that i can explain the best since it’d be too long if i started rambling on about something i can’t fully grasp in label words yet >>
Yi Sang: my best descriptor for what i think of its gender is that it oscillates between… something in the binary and crowgender. the first time i had this thought it was a bit late, i assigned it the word crowflux but i fear that that’s not a thing.
Faust: “i’m probably not in the binary but i have a job so idrc about that right now” feels little connection to binary gender, but dae’ve got stuff to do. i associate Faust with the Celestial Alignment System though.
Don Quixote: solstian or helian, perhaps anything under the solarian umbrella. i like Galactic Alignment System Don in general, i associate that beam with space and stars!!!!
Ryōshū: infernic/hellgender, but I feel like she'd have a lot of labels, more than just that one. rather than them being their own separate things, all of the labels amass into one collective image, like a collage. i also sort of associate her gender with bugs and insects to some extent
Hong Lu: prior to Canto VIII i was like “oh yeah jadegender beam” but i feel like after that it’d be anything except jadegender. thumbs up. I remember being hazy the other day and conjuring the phrase jade-apathy, similar to gender apathy but with relation to being a jade/jadegender. until I feel that I can phrase it better, that is what I shall go with
Ishmael: whenever i think of Ishmael’s gender, all i see is an image of Ishy staring at her reflection in the water with no ripples distorting the image watching back. The Rippleless. I don't think that there's a label for this, but it's weirdly clear compared to some of the other ones i'm getting (cough Outis cough Heathcliff cough Gregor cough I can't put them into words)
Sinclair: ohhh I just thought of Sinclair label shopping with Ryō, im taking that and running. I often associate Sinclair with plants and fungi etc, der collection of labels have a similar way of working to Ryō, but for some reason I'm a big fan of mossgender Sinclair.
