Day 2: "Nobody warned you about me?"
Prompt number: #2 –"Nobody warned you about me?"
Fandom: Original Work (The Maiden Is Death)
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Lunanera Rosano & Ava (Life) | Both are original characters
Warnings/Tags: prompt mention of body horror imagery
Though the personification of Death should put fear into Luna’s heart, he does not really do much for Luna other than make her arch a brow most of the time. To her, if anything, he is a funny guy she sold her child’s soul to and her life’s purpose to for the sake of a laugh. He’s not scary or what-the-fuck-ever the legends say.
Even when he is nothing but a skeleton or melted flesh, he’s simply Grim, the guy she tricked and who tricked her after she tricked him, and that’s about it. He’s nothing horrific or scary.
To be honest, anyone’s scary, it’s Luna.
Which is why, when the personification of Life is offended when Death sends Luna to send her a message, Luna is offended that Life is offended.
“Nobody warned you about me?” Luna asked, hands on her waist as she glared daggers at the creator of life herself.
The beautiful creator simply looked up in disbelief before letting out a dramatic sigh, “Oh Holy Maker. What have I done to receive such a joke?” she mumbled before looking back to Luna. “Of course not. You are nothing but flesh and bone. A mortal. What have I to worry about with you? What warning shall I need?” she asked.
“I killed an old God,” Luna said simply, shrugging, reading Life’s expression.
“Aspiration?” the woman asked.
“Yes.” Luna replied.
“Good for you. But that means nothing to me. What did Death send you for? To mock me?”
“He said…something about there eventually being a new Sunetta and about you needing to find new warriors.” Luna replied, rolling her eyes. Never knowing what Death was talking about.
“Tell him, I know this. Tell him to call me…there’s a reason cell-phones exist. I’m tired. You’re tired. He doesn’t have to send his little Maidens to show off that he has them,” she said. “Anyways. Do you want to talk and tell me all the things that are so annoying to you about him? I have lots of food and beverages?” She wiggled her brows at Luna.
And since Luna wasn’t loyal at all to Death, she grinned and nodded. “Hell yeah.” And then she began to go on a tangent.
Nothing out of the ordinary had happened but Misfits still didn’t feel right. She probably should have asked someone else other than Crosshairs. But it was only the first day, maybe she was just having an off day and the next day would be just fine. It happens.
However waking up, and going to take a shower was a normal start
Finding a streak of silver in her hair or patches of her skin...missing....was not.
“Wait is this...metal?!”
Misfits threw off her hoodie and started to scream. It was everywhere.
