The Best Day of the Year
The Best Day of the Year
Some people think it’s Christmas, but it isn’t; it’s National Donut Day. Nothing upholds the American stereotype like an entire day dedicated to fried dough — beautiful, soft, golden-friend dough. Because donuts are the number four love of my life, and because my readers deserve nothing but the best things, I have compiled a list of some donut deals. Introduction.
Growing up in the donut shop has had its ups and downs.... The number on the scale goes up and the number of hours of sleep I get each night goes down. No, of course its not all bad, however there are the constant and reoccurring questions “Am I insane or just sleep deprived?” “If you strangle someone before 7 A.M, did it ever really happen?” “Is it safe to drink one more cup of coffee?” My favorite question, and the one I ask myself most often, would have to be “How many other people love their job as much as I do?” Because after I’ve hit snooze a thousand times and have dragged my butt out of bed, after the second cup of coffee sinks in and the sun begins to rise, suddenly I love people and feel truly blessed to serve my community in the capacity that our business allows. I love knowing that I’m likely the first face our customers see each morning and I chose to greet them with a smile. We play a huge part in shaping the days of our patrons by going above and beyond to make their daily breakfast desires a reality. At the end of the day, (Which is late-afternoon, if I’m lucky) I’m so grateful to have grown up serving my community and building relationships with our loyal patrons.
If you’re considering working in the donut world, be prepared to hear the same two things every time, I repeat, EVERY time you go out in public in uniform; “Time to make the donuts...” and “Where are my donuts at?” Some things are just unavoidable. (Including the alarm clock.)
See you in the morning,
The Donut Girl

Many of us who hail from small towns, love to talk badly about what we had or didn’t have growing up (side note: only people from small towns can talk bad about small towns #pleaseandthankyou). We all know there are definitely some pros to being raised in a small Southern town.
1. You lived for Sonic Happy Hour. What’s better than an enormous diet cherry vanilla coke after school? Nothing.…
