Daya swiped off the sweat off her forehead from her daily workout with a towel as she exited the campus gym and headed towards the locker room.
Her train of thoughts was interrupted when she heard a familiar voice call for her.
"Daya!"
She turned around to find Jasmine smiling at her while she jogged her way to the taller girl.
The blonde sported her cheer uniform, her hair perfectly styled in her signature high ponytail. Any sign of the previous night of partying didn't seem to show up on her.
"Hey, there," Daya smiled back at her, stuffing her towel in her duffle bag as she fully turned her attention to the cheerleader, "What's up, Jas? Not too hammered from last night, are you?"
Jasmine nodded, "It couldn't have been much worse if you didn't leave those painkillers for me on my nightstand! I have to thank you for being so thoughtful, I honestly wouldn't have expected it from you"
Daya's brows furrowed for a second, "Painkillers?"
"You left those out, right?" Jasmine cocked her head, "I don't remember much from last night apart from us, you know," she gestured between them with her hands, "You're the last person I remember seeing at the party, didn't you help me get home or was it-"
The basketball player's eyes widened, she had no idea what Jasmine was going on about it but she quickly realized that it could be the perfect occasion to get an upper hand on Bosco.
"Oh, yeah! Of course, yeah, sure, it was me. It just took me a moment to remember it," she smiled, "I had to get up early for practice and it flew over my mind"
Jasmine nodded, seemingly believing her lie, "You know, I might have misjudged you a bit, I didn't think you'd be this attentive and caring," she admitted, her bright green eyes meeting Daya's blue ones, "I heard last night that your birthday is coming up in a couple of days? Do you have anything special planned?"
The brunette shook her head, "Not really, why?"
Jasmine bit her lower lip, a faint blush tainting her cheeks, "I was wondering if you wanted to go grab a coffee or something? If you want to, I'm free from practice on your birthday"
Daya couldn't contain a smirk, she truly was making things easier for her, "Is the Jasmine Kennedie asking me out on a date?" she teased her, leaning against the wall.
At the implication, the blonde's cheeks reddened, "It's just a friendly date... just because it's your birthday and I'm a nice person!"
Daya laughed out loud, her hand brushing against Jasmine's side when she replied, "I could use me a friendly date, Jas. Just tell me when and where!"
