Day 7 to fulfillment
I want to share an amazing sermon I heard today. I hope these few key points move you the way it did me.
The Art of Silence (John Gray)
Your words can create your future.
There’s power in saying nothing. Sometimes responding verbally is not in God’s will.
The devil doesn’t know the future. The only clues he has about what’s going on, is when you start using your words.
Jesus prizes silence.
Your silence is your sermon. Some of us use too many words, but your life doesn’t line up. Stay quiet because your fruit will produce on its own.
God sends people to mature you and the way He does that is by causing you to remain uncomfortable until you learn the lesson and produce the character of the word you say you follow.
Do not respond from your historical frame of reference.
God may send the softest things to sharpen you.
Instead of fueling the fire and using more words, I starved the devil, silenced my flesh but I spoke the word.
Use scripture in the middle of conflict because scripture can speak after they finish reading it and change their heart.
“The only way God can get rid of things in you, is to put somebody in your life to show you where it is.”
Certain people are sent to push you closer to God. Some people are designed for you to not respond to them but to interact with Him.
Silence shows your trust in the Lord.
Remaining silent when you want to engage in conversation because you are trusting in the Lord, is hard. As believers, we must meditate on the word of God that tells us that it’s best that we trust His will for our lives and not our own. I know that God is developing my character and maturing me for whatever blessing is coming next. I know that He is producing something in me so the blessing can be sustained for a long time. As hard as it is- I know his plans for me are much brighter and greater than what I have planned for myself. I hope I will be fit for the blessings coming my way.
