Brew of the Day for 3. October: Da Yu Ling Oolong. If you've been following along with us so far, we started off Tea Month with a deep, dar
Da Yu Ling #95k (5/5)
Every now and then i find the room in my budget to order something special for myself. This tea is very special indeed. For starters its grown at very high elevations and is in VERY short production due to the government trying to return a lot of growing land to natural growing forests.
The high high elevations give the tea some truly amazing characteristics. Upon your first sip you'll get a blast of fresh watermelon and a slightly oceanic waterfall taste that was blissful. This was top notch high mountain oolong. I don't drink alcohol i don't smoke cigarettes or wear fancy clothes, so every now and then a special tea is what i do to treat myself and this tea was an absolute pleasure. If your interested in this tea click this link HERE. Plain and simple a 5/5
New stuff from @teawarehousearrived! Enjoying a dayuling oolong in this swirly, swirly cup. And the fishies for fun!
Taiwan's Da Yu Ling Oolong (大禹岭)
Da Yu Ling oolong tea (大禹岭)) is a very premium-grade oolong tea from the high mountains of Taiwan's Taichung county. Its high altitude (more than 2600 meters) makes this one of the highest tea plantations in the world.
to be continued..
DaYuLing Oolong
This rare competition grade Oolong won first place at the North American Tea Championship 2012 in the Green Oolong class. Once you breathe in its luscious aroma, you will absolutely understand why. It is unlike any Oolong I have ever tasted: its gentle, yet complex and sweet. The quality of this tea is attributed to the incredibly high mountains it is grown on, above 2000m in Taiwan. This height leaves the tea trees shrouded in fog and slows the growing of the leaves.
You can only truly appreciate the beauty of the flavor by taking slow sips and massaging the liqueur around your tongue. The first taste on the tip of your tongue is vastly different from the honeyed aftertaste left behind. The sweet, creamy aftertaste, is what made me fall in love with this DaYuLing.
This tea will be appreciated by all, but should be given the appropriate time and attitude to come to life in the drinker's mind.
Brew Method:

On the beauty of DaYuLing teas:
"DaYuLing oolong tea is one of the rarest and most sought after teas. Grown at elevations higher than 2000m above sea level, DaYuLing tea is exceptionally aromatic and sweet. Our offering is no exception. " - MountainTea website
