((Edit 2016: These were answered some time ago now, so some aspects may be inconsistant with how the characters/story have developed.))
Figured I should just fill this out! I’m gonna use the Monochrome crew (Minute, Dazzle, Forte and Mirage) because I need to work on them if I’m gonna be drawing up their story. I’m probably gonna leave out some questions by crossing them off for one reason or another.
What position does your character sleep in? ( i.e; stomach, side, back, etc. ) Describe why they do this — optional.
Minute = Curls up on his side. He’s used to sleeping on the streets, so he does this to keep himself as warm as possible.
Dazzle = that one guy who sleeps in weird positions
Forte = On his back, usually with a hand on his stomach.
Mirage = She varies.
Does your character have any noteworthy features? Freckles? Dimples? A scar somewhere unusual? etc.
Minute = Minmin has freckles.
Dazzle = Nothing particularly unusual.
Forte = Tattoo on his back. It’s a quill pen
Mirage = Probably has scars, her siblings are troublemakers-
Does your character have an accent? What does it sound like?
I haven’t put a whole lot of thought into their voices, sorry-
Do they have any verbal tics? Do they have trouble pronouncing certain words or getting their thoughts across clearly?
Minute stutters when he’s nervous. Lack of knowledge on things also has led to him making up words for certain things. This can lead to him having trouble getting thoughts across and communicating effectively. For example, he doesn’t know the word “freckles”, but he knows the sun causes freckles, so he calls them “sun spots”.
Forte doesn’t talk much. He is sometimes misunderstood because he tends to sound a bit deadpan or jaded.
What are their chief tension areas?
I don’t quite understand this question-
If you were to pick one song — and only one song — to describe your character, what would it be and why?
How does your character perceive themselves? Positive? Negative? Neutral?
Minute = Very negative
Dazzle = Very Positive
Forte = Neutral
Mirage = Positive
Are they a quick thinker or do they need time to sort through their thoughts?
Minute = Not sure!
Dazzle = Used to taking it easy, so he’s a bit slow
Forte = Forte chooses his words very carefully at all times. He’s gotten quicker at this over time.
Mirage = Quick thinker
Does your character dream or are their nights filled with an empty blackness? Describe a dream they’ve had or a night they couldn’t sleep and what they did to preoccupy their time.
Minute = Has reoccurring nightmares, and he finds it really hard to get a good nights sleep. I’d rather not describe his nightmares, as I’ll be drawing them up eventually. When he can’t sleep, he tends to start organizing the space around him, tidying, etc.
Dazzle = Sunshine and rainbows- nothing bad here! Dazzle’s got a good life, and has dreams just like most of us would have: unexplained and random events that he rarely remembers. Unicorns, all that jazz
Forte = Tends to remember his dreams quite well. ...They’re always a bit odd.
Mirage = Some are good, some are bad.
If they had a choice, would they prefer a subway or a bus for public transportation?
Minute = Minute would dislike both, but would probably pick a bus so he can sit with someone he knows.
Dazzle = Subway, because he can turn to any side to meet someone new.
Forte = No preference, they’re the same to him!
Mirage = Subway
What do they think of creation? Do they believe in evolution or do they believe in God? What is their religion like?
Minute = Minute was raised a Roman Catholic, but not in an incredibly strict manor. He believes there is a God out there somewhere. He also believes that when someone dies, they become spirits, rather than believing in a heaven. This comforts him. He believes that, this way, they’re never truly “gone”, he can still talk to them and they can still see him. Believes God created humans, because he’s never been shown/told otherwise. (Once it’s shown, he’ll believe in evolution too.)
Dazzle = Believes there is some sort of afterlife, but not necessarily a God. He thinks there’s too many unexplained things in this world for there not to be SOMETHING/SOMEWHERE out there. Believes in evolution.
Forte = Believes in reincarnation. He believes that how you spend your life decides what type of creature you’ll be in your next life. For example: spend your life helping others, you’ll become something nurturing. Spend your life hurting others, and you’ll be punished by turning into something weak. Believes in evolution.
Mirage = Atheist. Doesn’t believe in God, and believes in evolution. “When you die, that’s it, so make the most of what you’ve got.”
Have they ever been so overwhelmed they had to stop and take a break from something?
Are they a team player or do they prefer to be solo?
Minute = Enjoy playing with his friends, regardless of whether he’s with them or against them. Therefore, it depends!
Dazzle = Team player, the more the merrier!
Forte = Solo or really small groups. Doesn’t like team sports, but doesn’t mind, say, tennis or something.
Mirage = Solo
Can they multi-task or must they focus on one subject at a time?
Minute = Tends to get engrossed in what he’s doing, but can multitask to a small degree.
Dazzle = Can Multitask pretty well
Forte = Somewhere in the middle
Mirage = Tends to focus on one thing at a time.
What are their best school subjects? What are their worst? List five of each.
Minute = Minute hasn’t gone to school- I’ll take this question as if he was in modern-verse. Minute’s best subjects would be Science and Art. Worst would be Maths and languages. His spelling is really bad so English is hard for him.
Dazzle = Dazzles best subjects would be Music and English and his worst would be History and Geography.
Forte = Forte’s best subjects would be History, Maths and languages. (In modern verse, he helps Minute out a lot. “Big bro” Forte is a big softie~) His worst subjects would be the more physical ones like woodwork/metalwork.
Mirage = Mirage’s best subjects would be things like woodwork/metalwork and worst would be English.
Is your character an introvert or an extrovert? How do they handle big crowds of people?
Minute = Mostly an introvert. Loves spending time with others but needs his space every now and then. Tends to feel intimidated and scared in large crowds and will literally cling onto a part of his friend’s/friends’ clothing to avoid getting lost. If he’s alone, he panics.
Dazzle = Extrovert, through and through. Feels drained and down when he hasn’t been around people in a while. Being a performer, he loves crowds, and has no problem with them.
Forte = Likes time on his own, but is actually pretty much in the middle. Crowds only bother him because of how noisy they are and how easy it is to lose Minute in there. (Minute’s a shorty short at the moment)
Mirage = Surprisingly, she’s actually an extrovert. Crowds are...okkkayyy as long as they aren’t too big. If they’re too big she gets frustrated.
Are they a leader, do they prefer to follow, or would they rather just stay on the sidelines altogether?
Minute = Likes to follow his friends.
Dazzle = He tends to act as a leader because he’s used to getting his own way all the time. Once put in his place, he’ll follow.
Forte = Would prefer to stay in sidelines, but actually tends to be a leader.
Mirage = Doesn’t like being told what to do outside of work, so tries to act as a leader.
You know what it’s basically everyone’s the leader except Minute because everyone dotes on him.
If your character was suddenly challenged, would they rather run away or stay and fight?
Minute = Run, if possible
Dazzle = Would try to calm down the situation to avoid fighting altogether. If not, he’d try to leave.
Forte = He’d probably let out the biggest sigh you ever heard and then fight.
Mirage = Fight.
If your character was allowed to murder one person without any consequences, who would that person be and why?
Minute = He wouldn’t want to, but maybe the one responsible for his and his allies’ “condition”
Dazzle = Doesn’t dislike anyone in particular
Forte = No one
Mirage = ???
Your character has been granted 3 wishes; what would they wish for and why?
This would reveal too much!
Does your character trust people right off the bat or does it take them some time to warm up to someone?
Minute = Takes time for him to warm to others. He’s pretty quiet and shy at first.
Dazzle = Trusts people completely from the bat, because he can tell if they’re lying.
Forte = Doesn’t judge by appearances, (pretty faces have tricked him before) so doesn’t trust anyone until he knows them better.
Mirage = Doesn’t trust anyone at first.
Do they prefer romance or affection? What is the quickest way to your character’s heart?
Minute = When he’s a little older, Minute’s gonna be the kinda guy who just loves affection. Affection > Romance in his world! Cuddles, hand holding, all of that. So much so he’s probably gonna seem clingy. He’s naturally a sweetheart though, so he’ll probably be romantic to his partner without realizing it. Also romance makes him blush he wouldn’t know how to respond. Quickest way to Minute’s heart is kindness and gentleness.
Dazzle = Looooves cheesyness and romance. Probably prefers romance overall, because he’s very active. He’s always on the go, so there’s not a lot of time for affection, I guess! He’ll be really romantic and affectionate to his partner overall though. Quickest way to Dazzle’s heart is good times and a similar sense of humour.
Forte = He likes reading things with romance and watching things with romance, (shipperrr) but in practice, he leans more in the affection direction. He likes hugs a lot. Quickest way into Forte’s heart is having similar tastes and patience. He makes a lot of mistakes so someone understanding and patient really appeals to him. (He wants them to be able to put him in his place though! When he steps out of line, he doesn’t want his partner to just let it happen.)
Mirage = Eh, not particularly big on either. She’s not very romantically or sexually driven person. She’d probably prefer affection because romance makes her cringe! Quickest way to Mirage’s heart is...time. You gotta be close to her before a relationship is even a thought, and even then it’s hard. You’d have to be an exception. (poooossibly acearo)
Does your character have any enemies? If so, who and why?

Minute and Dazzle are underage and Forte and Mirage are barely of age. So not answering this one.
How does your character prepare for bed? Do they sleep at all or can they stay awake for days on end without trouble?
Minute = Has trouble sleeping most nights. He has trouble with this though, he’s often drained and sleepy during the day. If he has anything soft, he’ll hold onto it. (teddys, blankets etc)
Dazzle = Same as any old regular household. (Brush teeth, get changed, etc) Dazzle’s the type of person that cannn stay up for days, but considering how crazy he’d get, it’s not advised.
Forte = Nope, Forte’s gotta sleep. He’s a heavy sleeper. Reads in bed before going to sleep.
Mirage = Tends to watch TV for a while until she...er, falls asleep.
If your character had one thing to say to their parents before they died, what would it be?
Minute = “I’m sorry.”
Dazzle = “Thank you for always supporting me, and for everything.”
Forte = “I didn’t mean to say those things. I love you both, and I miss you."
Mirage = “...”
Are they afraid of death? Do they have any regrets?
Minute = Often thinks it would be better if he was dead, but doesn’t want to die.
Dazzle = Doesn’t really think about it. He’d have no regrets if he died suddenly though.
Forte = Like Dazzle, it doesn’t cross his mind often. If he died suddenly, his regrets would be a little spoilery so I’ll leave them out.
Mirage = Is afraid of death. Wants to live life to the fullest because she doesn’t believe in an afterlife. Her regrets would be that she couldn’t care for her siblings anymore.
Does your character get restless when things are too quiet or do they favour solitude and silence? Why?
Minute = Likes being able to have a comfortable silence with friends. Feels uncomfortable when things are too noisy.
Dazzle = Prefers the buzz of an energetic atmosphere. Gets bored easily if things are too quiet, but is okay with silence when with friends.
Forte = Grew up in a very quiet house. If anything, he gets frustrated when things are too noisy.
Mirage = Restless if everything is silent.
Finally; if your character was forced to eat one thing for the rest of their life, what would they choose and why?
Minute = Cakes, because he likes them!
Dazzle = Whatever his favourite food was at the time this curse was placed. He’d probably regret his choice after like a week.
Forte = Spuds, because he’s practical and knows they have all the nutrients you’d need.
