Rereading Stormbringer more closely (as in rereading key pages a few times) in order to finish my fanfic and I have to say this unpopular opinion.

This book is unnecessarily long. Where was the editor? Asagiri said he loves writing about Chuuya because he’s a fountain of ideas (or something like that) but a lot of this book is not about Chuuya. And even parts that featured Chuuya did not need to be as long as they were.

Re-reading Stormbringer and ohhh boy was Dazai right, cause I just read a whole page of N contradicting himself back to back, might post some quotes later but "He said this as if he was reading from a set of cue cards" of him explaining how he "created" Chuuya as an artificial being... Crazy word choice there.

what is truly valuable to me is that the ordinary dazai, who will always find a reason to tease chuuya, falls silent when chuuya is faced with the loss of his loved ones. when chuuya shows his humanity and empathy, dazai is always on guard.

"I wish you could know me, and I wish I could know you much more sometimes" but its chuuya wishing the Flags could have been able to see him grown up and get to know 22 year old him. Him wishing he could have had more time to get to know the flags more than the 1 year they had, wishing he could have let his guard down sooner and fully have gotten to know them
