Ha. This one requires a somewhat extended answer.

My preferred username on most platforms is "donutbarn", but that was taken here on Tumblr already. Sometimes I refer to myself as Barney, so I wanted to keep the "Barn" part, and "dbarn" was one of the first variants I tried that was open.

But why donutbarn? Hm. Long ago, before I got into fanfic, I tried to come up with an alias to use on sites where I wanted to establish a profile but still remain somewhat anonymous. One of my favorite movies was Big Trouble in Little China, so I chose the last name Burton. Somehow, and this part I don't remember, I came up with Dan as a first name. (Only much later did I discover that there was a politician by that name... googles... a representative from Indiana. Sorry, Dan.)

My neurodivergent mind loves wordplay, so I futzed around with the letters in "Dan Burton" until I realized they spelled "donut barn", and liked the sound of that immensely. I used the name off and on for several years before adopting it as my fanfic handle.
