Dbda Bang: they just seem a little weird by buttonbright

“Your car is very you,” says Niko, like that’s a compliment. It’s just another piece of crap she inherited and can’t afford to replace. Where she’s sitting, Niko’s gotta see where Jenny kicked the back of her dad’s seat so much the springs got tattooed into the leather.

She’s spent too long thinking about that comment to respond to it naturally, so she just clears her throat and starts the car. The engine coughs and stalls out on the first try. And the second.

“You pressing the clutch?” asks the guy, like Jenny’s never driven manual before.

My second contribution to @deadbangdetectives :)) I had the honour of working with @laiqualaurelote in making these pieces for her masterpiece of a fic, these mean streets, in the big bang (ITS A NOIR AU FIC WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT? genuinely though laiqualaurelote has put so much research into this au, it is incredible)

I've put the black & white versions of these two under the cut (because of the genre I felt it was really important for my values to be on point)
