Yep yep yep yep yep! That is one shameless mf. He does not care. And of course, because he’s a “stand up guy,” once you “accidentally” fall pregnant, he’s just gotta marry you! Because “it’s the right thing for a man to do, sweetheart.” He’s honestly been kind of annoyed with your dad for the last year or two but if they stopped being friends, he would’ve lost access to you so he’s persevered. He’s actually looking forward to telling your dad and all their mutual friends because that also means bragging that he has the hottest young new wife AND he knocked her up! You’re so sweet and bright and your father is so protective. He worries so much about what kind of guy you might end up with—boys today, because they definitely can’t be considered men, are awful and lazy and useless. He wants you to have a nice easy life where you’re well taken care of. He doesn’t want you to have to work or worry about money or anything beyond a family and your home. So who better for the job than his bestest friend in the world! That way he knows you’ll be with a nice man who’ll take care of you the way you deserve! Ben is wealthy and established, well respected (more or less) in the community, and he’s even got a nice house already! And you’ve always seemed to gravitate towards Ben (because you’ve had a crippling crush on him for years), so it’s a win all around! And let me counter that with her having had sex and it was. so. bad. Teenagers lacking experience, idiot prom date, etc. And when she tells Ben he’s still so pleased because that means he gets to show her how good it is, only furthering the narrative that Ben is the best man on earth and the perfect match for you!!!
