The precinct was decorated for the holidays,even everyone had some small decoration on their desks,all except one Nines. Nines recently joined along with Connor,and the two of you took a liking to each other after being assigned multiple cases together. Everyone thought you were tougher since you were the only one who was able to talk to him. You got called in for another case,a robbery.

The house was beautifully decorated,so beautiful that you couldn't help but to stare. You felt Nines move to stand next to you.

"Y/N you shouldn't stay out here,it's too cold" Before you could react he had already draped his jacket around your shoulders.

"It's just really pretty" You pointed to the lights.

"I've never understood the obsession with colorful light bulbs" You were about to make a joke about him sounding like a curtain captain. You handed him back his jacket when you walked in. There were only a handful of things stolen,the suspicious part was that no stranger would know where to find,which made it obvious that it was someone she knew. The investigation didn't take long once she told you about her dog sitter,and the stolen goods were found in her apartment.

You were finishing up your paperwork when you saw Nines walking up to you with a cup in his hands.

"I made you some tea,too k-keep you warm" He was clearly nervous as he put the cup down before walking back into the break room. You got up and followed him.

"Nines"  He turned around to face you as you stood closer,standing on your toes just to be able to reach him. “Thank you” Leaning in you kissed him,keeping your hands on his shoulders. His lips were surprisingly soft against yours,he kissed back as his hands moved to your waist. You pulled away when you needed to catch your breath.

“What was that about?”He asked as you let go of him.

“Look up”You pointed to the mistletoe above his head.
