When You Fall Asleep

         Summary:           

What seems to be a standard double homicide quickly unravels into a kidnapping, and Hank finds himself looking after two boys with a mysterious past. His strangest case turns into his biggest blessing as the three of them become family, but despite his best efforts, Hank was never able to solve the murders or learn where his new sons came from.

This comes back to bite him when Connor and Nines’ previous caretakers want them back.

Connor disappears and it leaves a hole in the family. Hank struggles with guilt, Nines with responsibility. After years of searching, they’ve all but given up when new evidence arises that might have all the answers they’ve been searching for.

Meanwhile, Connor’s been refined into the perfect soldier, and with some help, he’s determined to return to his family and take down CyberLife by using the weapons they gave him in their efforts to create something more than human.

Summary:

Kara and Alice, tired of their drunken father and the day-to-day dullness of a sorrowful home, leave Hoopersville behind. They set out on the road to Hereesh, hoping to make a better life for themselves and maybe have a few adventures along the way.

As long as they don't cross the waters of *beathra* and enter into an Foraeoise they'll be safe. It's only one warning, they'll be fine. -- This is my first piece for the Found Family Big Bang event. “Oh!” She jogged over to her sister and new friend. “Thank you for your help, Jackson. I wish you well in your travels.”

“And I, you, sweet Kara.” He softly kissed her hand, then jumped to his feet with a wink. “In spite of sounding mothering, I’ll warn again to not cross the river.”

Kara drew her hand to her chest, speechless at his actions. Alice stepped forward with hand outstretched for a hearty shake, which the boy did happily. “Kara’s a mother enough for the both of us.” She warned the other away. He only grinned more. “But we are grateful for your help.”

The human fired. Bobby dropped. And with a surge of light, and heat, his body blossomed into flame. A wall of fire, driving back the humans.
