Hargon finds his staff, necklace and robe as a preteen through some shady thrift shops. Unfortunately, he outgrows his old robe and now has to use it as a belt.

She remembered the way they sat against that same wall. The mirror of Ra in his hands, his knuckles white against the reflective surface that contained nothing. Was he no one? Nothing? They still weren't sure.

"I'm still pissed at you."

She nodded in agreement. She wasn't one to think through her actions clearly. Even when it involved someone so close to her. "I know." The hurt in his eyes was so vivid. She would never forget the way she immediately knew she shattered something precious and wished so desperately that she could take it back. "I wasn't thinking."

"You just do what people tell you to do?" He finally gave the mirror back to her, seemingly ending the conversation with a question. All she could see was his endless amounts of bushy hair, his face turned stubbornly away from her. But he stayed.

"I think I just get so stuck on helping people that I don't stop to think if what they're asking me to do is right." Her reflection peered back at her confidently through the mirror, though she was without her trademark goofy smile. People always wanted her to do things for them but Malroth wanted her to do things for herself and the relationships she had built with others. "I'm lucky to have you with me. To keep my head on straight."

"Damn right." His posture was a little less tense now, his head back against the wall, looking at her out of the corner of his eye. 

She scooted her hand a little closer to his, grabbing his pinky with hers and letting it stay like that. 

Malroth didn't move away, he just let his eyes slide shut. "I can't wait until we can leave this fucking place."

"Me too." 

It wasn't fair that she could so easily replace that memory with this one. Instead of him by her side, he sat alone, iron bars that she built towering above him. Instead of a silent comfort between friends who had endured so much together, it was a stubborn void as she stared helplessly from the stairwell, the guard pushing her back, always pushing her back. 

Again, just like all the other times, she did as she was told. They would come around, she reasoned. Eventually. But a spark burned inside her. So small, but violently sputtering to life when she was denied what she wanted most. 

She did as they asked, she helped them and given all she had, she rebuilt their castle from ruins. Yet they imprisoned Malroth in a dungeon she built at their request. Even though he had defended them, helped them, fought for them. 

The fire was brighter than ever before. She could take what she built and destroy it. She could.

Yeah, so Malroth is currently my favorite boy. Haven’t been this deep in hell in a while. But!  Fun fact, Malroth’s voice actor is  Tsuda Kenjirou. Popular voice actor. There is a L O T of content for me to go through and I have decided to make a bunch of collected voice lines for him. Literally no one can stop me so welcome to hell! 

I’m going to slap these under their own tags. Malroth Voice Lines If you happen to know the voice actor for one of your favorite DQ characters let me know and I will hunt down a bunch of content! For now. Malroth ~

Alright so I'm thinking of doodling little instances from Dragon Quest Builders 2 with my player-character/self insert.... Oh boy I took so many screenshots;;;;; I know I did. And I'll have to look through them when I get home from work. Hell I might have to play through it all again in case there were moments I missed.

So heres how we’ll be running this:

Asks for the event will be open as of today so that mod can have stuff prepared in advance, but the event itself will not start until April 1st. Regular submissions will still be answered as usual up until then

The event will run for one week, so don’t feel bad if you miss submitting something day-of! There will still be time!
