Dillon Brooks being interviewed at a CEBL Scarborough Shooting Stars game (Canadian Elite Basketball League)
Esfandiar Baraheni: Welcome back to the Pan Am Center where the Shooting Stars lead. And you might know the guy I'm joined beside. Some might call him an Olympian. Most should. He's also—I know you from that World Cup commercial, right? Is that correct? Tell me how that came about, man.
Dillon Brooks: That was a Nike commercial. Putting on for, you know, Canada soccer, so…or football, as they say over there in Europe. Just putting on for Canada.
Esfandiar: Is it true that you got your flight license after that?
Dillon: That’s a secret.
Esfandiar: A secret…
Dillon: I’m only flying people that, you know, are important.
Esfandiar: Okay. All right. Good to know. On a need to know basis on the flights. If I need to get on a G6, I'll let you know. Obviously you're a big fan of CEBL. You've been here for multiple games. Who's the guy you're watching out for tonight?
Dillon: I’m watching Frank Mitchell, one of my young boys. I worked out with him a lot, you know, last two summers. So, seeing what he's doing and he’s accomplishing things, and I’m just trying to enjoy the game.
Esfandiar: I know Team Canada in the World Cup right now is dominating, but you guys start your journey to qualify for the World Cup on July 3rd. Tell me about the preparation ahead for that.
Dillon: Yeah, I've been training, you know, throughout the whole summer. We start training camp in a couple of weeks. You know, we need all of Canada’s support for the first two games, in July 3rd and July 6th. I think we're playing Puerto Rico and Jamaica. So come out and support.
Esfandiar: Should be a great game. Best of luck for everything, man.
