Luke 7:25-33 Jesus' words hit hard. He is looking for people who will follow and pursue Him relentlessly. He is searching out followers who will not give in no matter what the cost, and it's a big cost. Pursuing Christ is going to take everything we have and then some. It's going to be the most difficult thing we could undertake, but we know that we can follow Him because of how relentlessly He pursued and chased after us.
Luke 6:27-36 Jesus calls us to love one another, not with a limp and lame sort of love, but with a love that is radical. God wants to place in us a love that is radical and holy, willing to give up everything for anyone, simply out of love. It's a crazy love, the sort that you don't see everyday. It's a radical love because it's God's love, the very same love that took Jesus to the cross. Are we willing to love like that?
Psalm 46 Our home is in God's presence. The world changes every day. Nothing in this world seems stable. The earth quakes and moves, but God is solid. He doesn't change. He doesn't leave. It is in His presence, in that constant relationship with Him where we will find true peace. So place your foundations in God. He is solid through the end of it all.
Luke 8:22-25 We're going to have some insane storms in our lives. There are some really hard times ahead of us, but we've got to have faith. We can't face these situations with fear in our hearts. We need to trust that God is doing the right thing and that, no matter how tough things get, He will never abandon us. No matter how tough it gets, keep on going, knowing that Christ is with you at every step.
John 8:1-12 Take a look at this situation. This woman is caught red handed. There seems to be no way out. She, who has sin is standing in front of a sinless Christ, and He gives her a second chance. Jesus does the same with us. He opens up the door for us to escape what we have done to ourselves. Christ has opened the door for us to walk free. So let's walk in the light of what He's done for us. Let's walk out of the prison we made and into our new home.
Mark 9:31-38 Christ calls us to live lives of selflessness, being willing to give up even our own lives for the glory of God. The world around us tells us to invest in good stocks, to live a safe and secure lifestyle. God calls us to invest in His Kingdom with everything we have. He calls us to the most dangerous and darkest of places, to be the light, whatever that means. Why? Because that's what Christ did for us.
Psalm 37:3,4 Let your heart be filled and fuelled by God and His love for you. Just as cars run on a specific fuel, our hearts run on God. We can't be filling ourselves up on stuff that won't push us onward. We need to walk in a way in which we are constantly being poured into by God, letting our hearts experience the fullness of His love and joy. When we learn to abide in that 24/7, then our hearts will be satisfied.
Malachi 3:8-12 Are we willing to give of ourselves to the Lord? God is calling for us to invest in His Kingdom, whether with our time, our money, or our hearts. God is calling us to pour out what He's given to us so that He may pour in even more. However, we have to be willing to sacrifice. We have to be willing to give in order to grow. So take some time to meditate on what you've been given and ask God, "what are You asking of me today?"
