What makes a nerd?
This is a hard question to answer, the commern fool world say someone who whears glasses and watches Marvel movies. But us off the higher plain of thinking know its much much more. In my time in this world of hours i have come to find it is so much more than that, i have seen nerds from all different walks of life and in that i find a sense of beauty. All you have to do is go to comic con and you will see this yourself. At first you expect to see a bunch of pasty white guys who still live in their mothers basments but upon arriving at the venue you will see so many different people walking around from different walks in life, Parents in costume with there kids men and women walking around people there you would not expect to see there and when you stand in the entrance and bask in the nerdy glow of the event you will find the biggest grin on your face surrounded by like minded people and then you will know you are home.
But having said all that it didnt really answer my question turns out i have a knack of beating around the brush or is it simply that its a question that can not be answerd, maybe im getting to deep with this but to really answer the question we should look at this from a different point of view by looking at the symptoms of being a nerd.
wearing cloths of your favourite movies, comics and tv shows
decorating your home with posters figures and collectables of your favourite movies, comics and tv shows
surrounding yourself with like minded people
devoting your time to your favourite movies, comics and tv shows
attending comic cons
wearing your passions on your sleeves (in my case tattoos)
getting excited when a new Movie, comic or tv show comes out.
On reflection i have come to a conclusion being a nerd is about passion, a passion for what you love we as nerds hold our passion close to our hearts no matter what your passion is you hold it close it becomes a large part of us and inspires us teaches us how we can be better show is the difference between right and wrong, from reading comics i know that it doesnt take super powers to be a hero it takes a good heart of a good person. For example star wars has taught me that good always wins no matter how powerful evil becomes good will always shine through and i find that to be the most amazing thing being a nerd can teach you. So to you reading this if your a nerd your amazing and if your not then thats okay because you still are amazing so i only have one thing left to say. May the force be with you.
