Walking Nina in the morning was something Calvin did practically every day. It gave the large hairy dog a chance to stretch her legs outside the apartment and the detective would get to pick up a coffee while she was out. What was not normal was taking the route through the park instead of walking past her partners house (and Nina relieving herself on his lawn). The weather was actually nice for how early it was and Calvin was quite happy to enjoy the rare greenery in the city.
What was not normal however was for Nina to suddenly up and start running for seemingly no reason. Even with her enhanced arm, Calvin had been caught off guard and ended up having to run after her pet. All the while she tried to pull her back to no avail. It was only when Nina reached a sudden stop that the short ginger also did.
"I'm so sorry, miss." She apologized to the taller woman that had gotten her pet's attention from across the park walkway. "She's usually so much better behaved than that."

“ c'mon try to guess what. ”
“What, what?” Sombra eyed the bag in Tracer’s hand, which smelled faintly of fish. Slowly, she set down the magazine in her hands and sat up from her slouch against the sofa, eyes widening.
“Did you get takeout?”

It wasn't too common for a Pearl to be deemed too defective for her gem to decide it just wasn't worth keeping her and just getting a replacement made. These ones often ended up on the shattering block for the resources to be reclaimed into new gem production, though there was always the fringe possibility that someone, usually a scientific gem, could claim them for free. This had been the case with the Orange Pearl that had been scheduled for destruction, with Calcite being the gem who had come to put in the claim. The only problem was that Calcite only got to the execution chamber a few seconds too late, only being in time to see the spike break the fragile gem beneath it.
Having managed to get the shards at least, the scientist took them back to her lab to see if she could put them back together as best she could. The chunks were luckily large enough to not really need filling, but an experimental stabilization ring was needed to help keep them in place. This ring would be a permanent fixture on the pearl though it wouldn't affect her poorly in anyway.
The actually repair didn't take too long and soon Calcite was cleaning excess calcium carbonate from the stone, setting it aside to wait for the pearl to reform. Only after that would she know just what she was going to do with her.

❝ I do apologize for my actions, even though they were totally and completely justified. ❞
“And I accept them, even though I disagree.” Apologies and accepting them were necessary to maintain peace, after all. Especially in a situation where things weren’t in his favour.

Hey uh what do you mean by unreality
it’s content with themes revolving around how the world/reality isn’t real or whatever
like “you’re in a dream. you’ve been in a coma for years. wake up.” kinda stuff. or “you aren’t real”, to put it bluntly.
it’s sort of a complex subject to explain but it makes me dissociate so i’d really like that to be tagged
