Summary: When the hunter community has kids, it’s kind of hard to get a babysitter. That’s where Bobby Singer comes in. He’s gruff and not at all what someone would want in a sitter, but he’s perfect for hunters. When he’s busy during a case, the Novaks have to take their kids with them. Of course, that’s when the worst happens.

Dean and Jimmy are as happy as a couple of hunters can be. Of course they have their baggage, but that’s normal for anyone in the hunting life. The supernatural doesn’t bring you in by offering cookies, it only offers heartache. So when you are given something good while being immersed in something so bad, it makes you question everything.

When Sam and Eileen come back with something unexpected it has the potential to change everything. Castiel was always someone they were looking for when they were in the area, but they weren’t sure they would find him. They weren’t sure they really wanted to. Will finding Jimmy’s long lost brother tear their bubble apart or will it bring them even closer together?

Excerpt: “Come on Dean! If you want to get pie before we go to Bobby’s we needed to leave twenty minutes ago. I thought I got away from the primping when I started dating a man.” Jimmy had to tease him or Dean would surely think something was wrong. He knew Dean was self conscious when it came to his looks, and that it came from having to rely on those looks from the time he was a child.

“It doesn’t matter anyway, you look better than me no matter what I do.” Dean kissed him on the cheek as he stepped around to grab his keys off the counter. He’s not going to claim they are domesticated now, but things have really changed since moving into the bunker. He thought if Sammy would have stayed with them he would have everything he ever needed under one roof, because he knew Bobby would never leave the home that he had shared with his late wife Karen.

It was Jimmy’s birthday and they always spent the holidays with Bobby, usually Sam would make it over at some point during the weekend. He was on a case in Illinois and wasn’t sure if he and Eileen would make it back by Sunday, but they were going to try. Usually Dean or Jimmy, maybe even both would join them on a hunt, but Jimmy was kind of weird when it came to hunts in Illinois.

Dean understood, it was where Jimmy and his family had lost Castiel when they were kids. Castiel had been Jimmy’s twin brother, and their parents were on a hunt just outside of Pontiac, Illinois when he was taken. Both Castiel and the vampire had disappeared, and hadn’t been seen since.
