I’m back to using the DCL Booster, but only as a spot treatment on my upper cheek areas where I have my darkest discolored spots. Not putting it near my chin, which seems much more reactive to oils, or at least the oils in the DCL product. I’ve used the DCL C Scape Night Booster 30 only a handful of times, so I’m not expecting any big changes at this point. I have received some questions on it, so here are my thoughts so far... _________________ It has an citrus essential oil base and ascorbic acid granules, so it almost feels like an dry oil based scrub. Do not get this near your nostrils, eyes or mouth as it will burn like crazy. I accidentally got a little bit inside my nose once and it burned like a tiny fire. 🔥 I also feel a bit of prickly stinging here and there immediately after application, but it’s gone within 15-20 seconds. Due to the oily feel of this, I have to double cleanse the next morning to feel completely clean. ________________ As for results, my various facial discolorations remain unchanged, but like I said, it’s too early for any significant changes. Most of my discolored areas popped up over the course of a few years, so they’re pretty old. I don’t expect a single topical product to clear all that up. I’d love to see *some* fading, eventually! I have noticed that overall my skin is brighter and smoother, though. Anyway, keeping my expectations in check and will update again around the 12 week point. I’m also teetering on the edge of trying micro needling. So, if you love it, let me know. Finally got my hands on the @dclskincare C Scape High Potency Night Booster 30, which is a 30% L-Ascorbic Acid treatment. I’d first read about this on Caroline Hirons blog, then read another positive review by Sali Hughes, and dozens more by other users. It’s supposed to be a great brightening treatment for dark spots and many have reported melasma fading, which is primarily what I’m looking for. It’s also supposed to plump and firm. All stuff I want TBH lol 😬 ___________________ Most of the reviews mentioned how gritty it is and it’s true. Spreading it gently and slowly made it a more comfortable experience, otherwise it almost feels like you’re spreading oily sand across your face. Some users mentioned burning and tingling, and I did get some tingling on/off for about 5 minutes afterwards. Slightly stronger tingle than P50 1970, but not too bad. When I woke up this morning, it was still a slightly gritty layer on my skin. I read that some people use this in the daytime and I’m like, how?! It’s so gritty. 🤔 I’m going to ease into this and use it every 2-3 nights to start. I’ve been dabbling in dairy again, so I’ve got some new skin friends on my jaw and cheeks. 😬 _____ My mother in law’s cream puffs are diabolically good 😈 and she recently made a giant batch for my kids... I couldn’t help myself 😭 I only got 2-3 new zits from the cream puffs, but I’m going to stop now before things get really ugly haha.
