In which Jacob gets fed up. Warnings: yelling, fighting, crying

“Jangmi are you even listening to me?” Jacob’s sharp voice questioned her. It was a tone that she wasn’t used to hearing, not from Jacob who had always been nothing but kind and sweet to her. Even on the days she didn’t deserve it.

She looked away from the older, not wanting to have this fight with him, not when they were so close to being good. It all started when she had told Jacob about the text from Hanbin and what  had been a very civil and nice conversation of Jangmi venting out her complex feeling for the older, suddenly took a turn that she hadn’t expected. Though, she wonders how she couldn’t have seen it coming, if Jacob had been obsessed and talking about his ex (well, Hanbin wasn’t even an ex, but it wasn’t time to get into that debate), she would have been upset too. Kind and sweet Jacob had to snap eventually, they all did, so it should have come as such a surprise to her that things ended up this way.

“Do you even care about this or are you just using me as a way to get over Hanbin?” the words hit Jangmi in the heart. She never wanted to hurt him, not like this. “When we first started this, I thought maybe you’d get over him in a bit, maybe it was just some lingering feelings of a big love affair you two had, but it’s been months Jangmi.” She couldn’t find it in her to get Jacob to stop because it was true, she hadn’t gotten over Hanbin. She wanted to, but she hadn’t yet. 

Jangmi could feel his eyes on her, probably looking for some sort of reaction, but Jangmi couldn’t find it in herself to meet his eyes. He let out a small scoff, “Sometimes it feels like I am the only one doing an effort here.”

“Jacob-” The younger started, her eyes flashing to the man’s in a second, but she stopped herself, there was nothing she could say that would make it any better.

“Can you tell me that I’m wrong?” he questioned and Jangmi almost wished she never looked back at him, the tears starting to well up in his eyes as he spoke. “Can you honestly look at me and tell me that you’re putting half as much effort into this relationship as I am?”

Jangmi stayed silent, feeling the familiar prick on tears welling up in her eyes, but she forced them to stay down. She hurt Jacob, she shouldn’t be the one to cry, not when that would make Jacob feel even worse for calling her out.

They stayed silent like that, neither of them saying a word, neither of them shedding a tear as they looked at each other waiting for the other to talk first. Jacob looked away first, shaking his head, his jaw set. 

“Call me when you figure your shit out,” the words rang through the silence, but he didn't wait for them to settle in the air before he turned on his heel, picking up his coat, and leaving the room without another word.

“does this have to be related to an idol or can i just say something like pride and prejudice is a cinematic masterpiece that’s greatly underappreciated. i don’t know if that would have my searches in flames actually, i think they’d just be like baekhan and make fun of my taste in movies.”

“as of right now i’m a lead dancer, vocalist, and visual! i don’t really get the visual position? but other than that i think all the positions in my group are pretty fair! they highlight our talents pretty well.”

“ hmmm , ” sunwoo thought for a moment . “ i’m not really the most romantic person , i’m pretty sure that’s why most of my relationships haven’t gone anywhere . ” he shrugged . “ as for what someone has done for me , i guess it would be when one of the girls at school tried to ask me out on valentines day with a really romantic note and flowers and chocolates . she even made a playlist too ! i felt really bad when i turned her down . ”

“ i don’t think so,” sunwoo shook his head. “i think love is something you have to grow into. you might think you love someone at first sight , but it’s probably not really love . ”

“you must be new here, i think my best decision was leaving that group. none of those bitches had the same mindset as me and they couldn’t handle it, should’ve just begged sm to let me debut solo instead of now trying desperately to find someone else who’ll take me.”

“the minute i left sm i created an instagram account, i still post a selfie every now and then to pander to my former stans. my instagram story is full of posts saying ‘i promise i will debut soon!’”

“only produce 101 and it was definitely an interesting experience. i only got halfway in and i cried so hard when i got eliminated, i don’t think i’ve ever been pushed the way that show did me. survival shows just aren’t for me.”

“i swim a lot, it’s really refreshing after a long week of practice. i also play the guitar in my spare time, it’s always super soothing for me.”
