Name: 2005 Korbin Kameron Cabernet Sauvignon and 2005 Quinault L’enclos _________ My rating: 91 Korbin and 90 Quinault _________ My price: $21 for the Korbin and $40 for the Quinault _________ Last night the battle of the 2005s was surprisingly won by the Sonoma Cab. While the Saint Emilion has the most amazing and perfumed nose, the palate was tight and a bit thin, with faded fruit and stronger oak influences ending with bitter tannins. It was elegant and definitely close, but the finish didn’t work for me, even with food. The Sonoma cab on the other hand had a more restrained nose, but a quite expansive and rich palate, showcasing ripe and extracted dark fruit, layers of leather, tobacco and cedar, with a very long finish of coarse tannins. It actually evolved throughout the evening getting better during the two hours we consumed it. ————————— #cabernet #merlot #wine #winetasting #bordeaux #frenchwines #winesoffrance #bordeauxwine #dcwine #2005vintage #redwine #winewithfamily #winewithfriends #sonoma, #sonomawines #winelover (at Washington, District of Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs594Y-HT8x/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=87ll5biw8av
