GOT MY NAME AND GENDER MARKER CHANGED AT DMV!
Now headed home lol.
While I certainly don’t mind folks looking at older photos of me with facial hair, I figured for my driver’s license I really needed to get a new photo. I’m nowhere near close to passing at the moment, but having a license that looks less and less like me as time goes on feels unsafe, even if it still lists me as male.
In true “Alex’s personal life” fashion, I didn’t realize that I needed to book an in person appointment for the DMV in advance. So when I got online to do that, I was mildly horrified to learn that in order to get an appointment before my current license expires, I’d need to drive two hours to a DMV with an early enough opening.
Bummer that that would seem, it allowed me to meet a friend in the area for breakfast after which was lovely!
Sometimes a silver lining is actually golden.
The photo for the license is… not great… truly. That said, while I look straight up awful in it, it at least looks like me, and will be another fun, endearing record on my transition journey.
