The Boys™ with an s/o who never seems to get past the 'honeymoon' stage? they always catch her staring at them lovingly, giggling when they smile at her, softly blushing when they show physical or verbal affection, complimenting them during battle, things like that! I love me some fluff (´▽`ʃƪ)♡

Vergil

Surprised by how honeymoony she always acts, but also pleased by it. Having her affection for him be so overt makes him want to return it, though he’s not as open with it as she is.

When it comes to being in private, he soaks up her reactions to his attention and relishes in the way he can always make her blush. He likes to find new ways to draw reactions out of her.

Though in public he’s not openly affectionate, he’ll accept her compliments and her giggling and her staring without complaint- and in fact, he finds it cute. When he catches her staring he’ll give the smallest little smile (more of a smirk, really) and keep that expression for long after he thinks she’s stopped looking

Especially touched by her compliments, as he likes to impress her.

Dante

He finds it so cute. He’s admittedly not very used to people treating him with such obvious affection, and coming from her it means all the much more.

He loves seeing her laugh, so he likes to tell her jokes or give her flirty looks when he has the chance. He gets into the habit of throwing her a wink when he’s leaving for a while, so he can get one last dose of her giggles before he goes.

In private it’s easy for him to get honeymoony as well, especially if he’s been gone for a while. He likes to be physically close to her a lot, even when it’s not necessarily the best time. He can break away when he needs to, but if nothing’s stopping him he’ll spend most of the day hanging out around her.

Nero

eMBARRASSED. He does the nose-scratching thing all the time around her. He loves the attention, but overt affection (especially in public) flusters him a little bit. It can end up in an adorable feedback loop of both of them getting flustered around each other.

Having her obvious and open approval of his affection makes it easier for him to give it to her, so over time he’ll be less shy about saying (and doing) romantic things. She’ll probably never stop being able to fluster him when giving him her own, though over time he’ll be more willing to accept it with a blush and a grumble.

Takes him a while to accept that she’s being earnest when she tells him sweet things or compliments him, because he initially believes she’s just trying to talk him up and isn’t actually impressed

Often looks at his s/o when he needs reassurance, because he knows that she’s always able to make him feel better with even just a smile

V

Loves to impress her and loves to draw reactions out of her, even as he pretends to be nonchalant about it. It’s probably fairly obvious to anyone who knows him well, because he doesn’t usually spend this much attention on one person

Will act like he doesn’t notice the affect he has on her either, even while leaning close to speak quietly in her ear and relishing in the way her whole face gets red.

He likes to turn her compliments against her and say sweet things as though its no big deal. Very dangerous to say anything nice to him, especially considering how flustered she gets.

Hi! Can you make headcanons about Dante, Vergil and Nero, if S/O in a dream said the name of another men (like her close friend, or maybe someone of them). I hope you can understand me ^^`

I was able to understand! And okay, coming right up! I’m assuming the way the S/O says it is in a kind of wistful way? Unless you meant sexually, in which case. Whoops.

Dante

If it’s just one of his S/O’s friends and it just happens once or twice, it won’t bother him that much. He has pretty strong trust in his S/O and he doesn’t tend to get insecure. He’s more likely to get bothered if it’s Nero or Vergil.

If it keeps happening, it’ll lowkey start stressing him out. He’ll try to hide it and mention it in a sly joke to his S/O, something just general about how she must be having weird dreams lately.

Even though he’s saying it as a joke, he’s watching her carefully and trying to see her reaction. He’ll drop it if she doesn’t seem to have some sort of strange reaction to him bringing it up (like acting especially defensive), but a part of him will still keep it in mind. 

Nero

He thinks he heard it wrong the first time, but he’ll still sit up in bed and listen for a moment to see if she says it again- and if she does, it will immediately stress him out. It’s not that he’s particularly insecure about their relationship, but it’ll still make him start wondering about it.

He’ll try not to bring it up and he’s not the type to get jealous over something his S/O says in her sleep, but he might be a bit more observant about the way she acts around the person whose name she was calling.

If he does see something odd about the way she’s behaving, he’ll probably bring it up in a general way- just checking in to make sure everything’s fine between them.

Vergil

Of the lot of them, he’s got the strongest reaction. He’s more observant of the way she acts in general and notices when things between them seem tense or odd, so if she’s been that way recently, he may get a big flicker of jealousy.

He may even go so far as to wake her up, if things have been weird between them. He’ll mention that she was talking in her sleep and see where the conversation goes from there. It’s not immediately an argument, but it could quickly spin into one.

If he knows things have been fine between them, he might just hug her tight to his chest and hold her while she sleeps. Possessively, but he won’t (willingly) admit to that.

How do you think the Sparda bois would react to finding out that their s/o is actually an angel? Love your writting like 10/10

Dante thinks it’s hilarious, because of the whole angel versus demon thing, and starts up on corny jokes about it almost immediately. If it’s a pickup line (like the “did it hurt when you fell from heaven” one), that’s even better. The only time he really brings up his demonic ancestry is to make some sort of comment about where his S/O comes from.

Vergil finds it curious, especially if he hasn’t actually read about ‘real’ angels before or has any reason to believe they actually exist. His first thought is about how his S/O feels about it (especially if the circumstances about him finding out are noteworthy- like his S/O didn’t learn about it until recently, or they were afraid of telling him for whatever reason), and some part of him wonders if the way they see their angelic identity is at all similar to the way he sees his own demonic one.

Nero only found out about his own heritage as an adult so if his S/O’s experience is anything similar, he’s extremely sympathetic about it. But whether it’s new to his S/O or not, he may find it pretty fitting that they’re an angel considering how highly he thinks of them (though he’d be too embarrassed to elaborate on that besides a ‘makes sense’ comment he slides into the conversation). He may be slightly relieved to hear they’re not fully human if it means they have ways of keeping themself safe.

Dante

Flirt flirt flirt flirt, maybe some compliments but probably more teasing

The way he acts around them is pretty joking/playful in the first place, so when it shifts around to being more of a crush thing it’s possible they don’t even notice

If you thought he was flashy with his fighting style before, that’s nothing on how he acts when they’re around

Their work dynamic doesn’t change that much- to actually work with Dante you need a pretty high amount of self-reliance, so he isn’t going to feel the need to be overly-protective of them (most of the time)

he might actually start going on more jobs to spend more time with them

Nero

Stutters a little bit at first

He’s suddenly way more conscious about how he is on jobs, and it makes him act a little bit weird. He wants to impress them, but at the same time he doesn’t want to look like an idiot, so he kind of ends up swaying between flashy and more serious than usual. He also tries (at least a bit) to control his temper.

Pays more attention to them in general, but he can tamp down his protectiveness most of the time. He only really jumps in to help them if he thinks they really need it.

His flirtiness definitely ramps up in the heat of the moment. He’s more likely to throw a couple lines their way in the middle of or after a fight, though if they seem into it he’ll start flirting with them in between as well (and maybe even use a pet name or two)

Vergil

Torn between working with them more often or avoiding them like the fucking plague. He likes to focus on the job entirely, so being around someone that might influence the way he acts or thinks is frustrating.

Beneath that in-control vibe he likes to give off, he’s got a pretty fast temper whenever he doesn’t get his way, so they might think they’ve managed to get on his bad side at first (when really, he’s just annoyed about being thrown off)

If they keep talking to him, eventually he’ll start snarking back in response. It’s actually a vast improvement over the brooding act- he’s having fun with it and it’s a lot easier to get along with him when he’s not trying to convince them how annoyed he is to be around them.

Occasionally lets slip something that betrays the fact that he thinks they’re special, which they probably find endearing and he finds mortifying.

V

He starts speaking more in open invitation, not quite asking them to spend more time around him but hoping they’ll take the hint and tag along. Even if they usually split up, he’ll come up with some sort of reason to imply it’d be better to work together

Doing the grabbing-their-shoulder-by-the-end-of-his-cane thing like all the time, ostensibly to tell them something important but he just likes to walk closer to them.

So dang talkative, admittedly he gets pretty greedy for their attention

Pretty smooth about his crush in general, although he might start leaning a little towards mopey if he feels like they only see him as a fellow devil hunter (instead of at least an ally or even a friend)

Dante

Probably takes the longest, he’s had important people in and out of his life for a good portion of it so the concept of “The One” is far out of his mind. It’s not that he doesn’t care about his S/O that much or anything- he can love them with all his heart and still not make the conscious thought that they’re the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with. It probably happens one of the times he comes home from a mission and being back at his place is like actually being Home instead of just ‘home base’ just because they’re there to greet him. It’s a revelation he takes on almost casually, as though of course they’re the one, it kind of all makes sense now. He probably never says it directly, but he shows it as best he can.

Vergil

He already knew they were special because he let them get close in the first place, but realizing they’re ‘the one’ is an achingly sweet concept. The idea that, despite everything, he can have someone to spend the rest of his life with is pretty amazing to him. It’s something that he recognizes subconsciously for a long time, basically acknowledging bit by bit that he wants to be with them forever. When it finally clicks for him he doesn’t know how he wants to say it, so he says it somewhat indirect way. He’s not saying it to be some sort of proclamation of his love for them, but rather because he wants them to know what’s on his mind and how he wants to continue their relationship.

Nero

Nero is an extremely committed person, so much so that being involved with him romantically is already something of a pledge on his part to be there for his S/O for the long haul. Realizing they’re really ‘the one’, however, is a little more complicated- it takes recognizing the way that his S/O being around has made his life better, and in turn probably made him want to be a better person for them. He really wouldn’t change his behavior for just anyone, so its a really big reflection of how much they mean to him. Once he considers them that precious, he’s basically one declaration of affection (from them to him) from actually putting two-and-two together.

How do you think Lady and Trish would act around their s/o after coming back from a REALLY long mission?

OOoohhh *-* Lemme take a stab at this...

Lady

Craves physical closeness most of all. Not necessarily sexually, just wants to be around her S/O and get reintegrated with actually having them in arm’s reach again. Even around other people she’ll have lots of casual touches for them- brushing their shoulders together, putting a hand on their back, etc

She’s a very independent person, but she has a limit before having her s/o gone at the very least bums her out. People who know her well will say that she seems a lot happier when they’re around, even after the initial buzz of them being back is gone and things have gone back to normal

Wants all the details from the mission. The more entertaining the story is, the better. She’ll order pizza and beer and have a good night in as soon as they’re back

Nobody tell her s/o, but she lowkey asks Morrison to save the shorter missions for them. She doesn’t explain it and she only asks that of him “for a while”, so Morrison goes along with it if he can. 

Trish

She realizes she’s been figuratively holding her breath for the entire time they’ve been gone. She’s not the melodramatic or mopey sort in the least, but things don’t feel the same without her S/O around. She didn’t realize how ‘not-normal’ not being around them felt.

Will randomly pull them in for kisses or run her fingers through their hair. She doesn’t need to sleep, but she’ll sleep next to them at night because she wants to. In general she wants to spend a lot of time together. 

She gets surprisingly domestic, not in the homemaking way but rather like she’s trying to enjoy the brief calm between the next time they have to separate. Not all that talk-about-our-feelings-y, but she’ll at the very least mention that she misses them when they’re gone.

If her S/O is a human, there’s an undercurrent of concern about times they’re gone on long missions. She finds them capable, but it’s hard not for her to recognize all of the ways humans are so much more fragile. She’ll want to accompany her S/O on the next mission (she says it’s for money, but let’s be real- she’s getting a bit protective).

Ooh sure lemme try.

Vergil

Most of the time he tries to control his temper around his S/O, but he’s always been callous even at best. 

It probably comes as no surprise that once they’re in a real, full argument things get heated pretty quickly.

It’s not even that he says says something particularly witty or biting. He’s just got a talent for making people feel like he thinks they’re less than nothing to him and that’s bad enough, especially if they’re arguing about something that makes her feel vulnerable.

When she leaves and starts avoiding him entirely he tries very, very hard to bite back his own guilt about it and justify (to himself) the way he acted

He misses her though, and that at least makes him want to reconcile. If she lets him, he’ll just stroll back into her space and her life like nothing happened.

To actually get a proper apology out of him, she has to stand her ground and really twist his arm about it. If she’s vague or she’s petty that’s exactly the tone his ‘apology’ will be.

Dante

Fights with Dante are extremely rare. Most of the time there’ll be sass and then one or both of them will drop it, even if they’re still mad.

It would have to be a long-term problem or something really deep for it to actually escalate into an actual argument

What he says that hurts his S/O’s feelings is probably a comment he didn’t realize would hurt her that badly, and even when she leaves he’s probably still so caught up in his own frustration that he doesn’t think about it too deeply

It’s only after he sees the way she acts afterwards (namely, avoiding him entirely) that he realizes she’s that bothered. Even then he spends a few days expecting it to go back to normal on its own, considering that’s how most of their disagreements go.

When he reconciles, it’s through an explanation of the argument itself, not really addressing what he said to hurt her. It’s more like he’s trying to just cover the whole topic so they won’t have the same fight again. 

If she wants an actual apology, it’s going to be awkward as all hell and probably pretty brief, unless he knows he really really fucked up.

Could we have headcanons for vergil with a silent type mysterious witch s/o that gives him small bags of herbs so he has less nightmares?

Ye, can do!

Prior to their relationship and perhaps for a while into it, Vergil is very skeptical about any offerings in the realm of magic/medicines/potions.

It takes a lot before he’s willing to try- not because he doubts his s/o’s skills (at this point he’s well aware of them) but rather because he doubts that anything could help and even then he dislikes the idea of anything that might even in the smallest way alter the way he thinks, feels, or acts.

He only finally accepts during a particularly bad night, after his s/o fully assures him of their usefulness and promises they’d never give him something that would have one of the effects he’s trying to avoid

After he has his first peaceful rest, then he knows they’re exactly what he needs. Still, he’s stubborn. He tries to go a few more nights without them. When that fails, he finally asks for them again.

After that point, Vergil’s respect for their abilities deepened significantly. If they’re human, that adds another layer to it; he has probably never found a ‘full’ human he’s considered powerful before meeting his S/O.

He finds it amusing and fitting that his S/O would be the one to literally make his nightmares go away. He actively avoids acting like anyone has been his ‘salvation’ in any way, but it’s hard for him not to soften at the idea that they’ve so blatantly done something that has pushed him a little further away from the things that torment him. 

Though he probably won’t pursue it himself even if he’s able to, he sometimes watches them prepare herbs or perform rituals. He usually watches quietly, but occasionally he’ll cut in with a question- nothing beginner, moreso things that reflect the fact that he’s trying to understand how witchcraft works in the first place.
