...to the 81st annual nyc protectors foundation gala in benefit of wounded service members.
if you're dedicated to bringing safety and justice to the fine people of new york city , then consider yourself invited to the protector’s gala , a yearly event hosted by the nyc protectors foundation , whose purpose is to encourage donations and raise funds to support those entities that keep the city of new york safe for all its citizens. this year , all donations go towards aiding wounded service members and their families.
we hope you’ll join us for this event , which celebrates the work of those who protect this city day in , day out.

WHEN: friday , august 16th.
WHERE: pier 60 , chelsea piers.
DRESS CODE: formal.
tickets for the gala were sold at very high prices , but everyone who works for the nypd , fire department , emergency medical department & the da’s office have been invited and received free tickets.
evening festivities will begin with cocktails and hor d'oeuvres.
once everyone is seated will be a small awards ceremony , honoring the protectors of new york city.
afterwards , dinner will be served , and the open bar will be available all night.
throughout the gala , there will be a silent auction , offering a variety of items donated by a wide range of sponsors.
there will be a dance floor , and a live band playing all through the night.
there will also be a photo booth , so guests can create memories to take home !
OOC INFORMATION:
this event will take place from wednesday AUGUST 14TH , 12PM EST to the next wednesday , AUGUST 21ST , 12PM EST.
participation is not mandatory , but we encourage you throw your characters into the mix !
feel free to continue non-event threads for the duration of the event.
once the event is over , you’re welcome to continue your gala threads if you so please ! just don’t start any new ones.

it goes without saying that the open bar at the gala was popular. which is to say --- many weren't happy when, after the last item was auctioned off ( at an exorbitant price ) , the gala ended at midnight , and the open bar was no more. given this, a few of the guests in attendance came up with the brilliant plan of continuing the night in an after-party.
this part of the event is optional — meaning , your character could have gone to the gala but decided not to attend the after party !
the after party is an impromptu event which occurred just the night of the event , which means people will be spilling out of the gala space at 12am and heading to the nearest club.
there are no set rules for this ! no strict time when it’ll end , and no real limitations to the space — so let your imagination run wild ! the possibilities are endless !
IMPORTANT NOTE: since this extends the event into another location , with more plot possibilities , we’re open to extending the event a few days ! before we make that decision , we’d like to hear from YOU our members , so tell us what you think here !
