Roomates | Naveen and Penny

Penny walked into her room, exhausted after her long day at work in the gambling tents. Everyday she left wondering how she could manage to stomach the brutes who occupied those gambling bars, but she pushed the thought to the back of her mind as she resolved herself to the knowledge that there would be no changing that.

Laying down in her bed she curled up, squeezing her toes as she let out an enormous yawn. She reached out to grab Teddy, pulling him into the crook of her arm, closing her eyes shut, when it dawned on her.

She was not alone.

Her eyes abruptly opened and widened in shock as she looked around the room, her mouth hanging open as she tried to stay quiet. Her books had been moved, stacked precariously on her bed side table, her clothes lain gently on the chair across the room. And in the bed opposite of her, the bed that had once been home to her novels and knickknacks was now home to something much different.

As the body in the bed began to move, Penny began to scream.
