Drawing Drawfee Speedraws #4 - 30 Minute Speedraw

Aight hello I haven't been very active lately, this is also actually drawn way back in October of last year haha. I recorded it because why not and haven't got around to finish editing it until like a few days ago lol

Here is the speedpaint for this one! Also features some musical sky performances by me heh

I wanted to draw my skykid at that time, because I've gotten pretty good at drawing them by now lmao. I also think she's pretty. I also spent way too much time on the sketch and started rushing towards the end. Didn't help that my computer didn't like me recording my screen :P I think I like it tho!

He is an avid builder of medieval structures and nature. He’s especially fond of sparkly things and loves to make things glow. He also likes to incorporate nature into any build he makes. High elevations are his preferred places to build. He has the most belts you have ever seen anyone wear.

He is horrible with organization, and his inventory is constantly full. For some reason, he likes to keep the first gems he’s ever gotten, so a diamond, an emerald, and an amethyst shard are always in his inventory. So is a stack of obsidian and end crystals. He’s quite the prankster and enjoys making booby traps. Harmless pranks are also littered across his builds and only he knows how to avoid them.

I’m not sure what Leto’s here for. I just wanted to give him a fairy lol

Drawing Drawfee Speedraws #5 - Problematic Favs

Awww yeah this was a fun one. I’ll be honest, I don’t have a lot of problematic favs and I also wanted to draw someone who I haven’t drawn much of yet. I landed on the Witch Excellinor from the How to Train Your Dragon book series.

She’s very problematic for various reasons, both she and Alvin get worse and worse as the series goes on and thats the main reason why I like her character. There is almost no sympathy offered for her and I don’t see that a lot. Not in how she’s done anyways. Obviously, as the villain she’s a very good foil for Hiccup, but she also shows that Hiccup isn’t like the perfect hero and whatever. I mean, yes he is constantly shown that he isn’t the best in viking standards, but ok ok so. The scene after Hiccup, Camicazi, and Fishlegs come out of the ice tunnels and Hiccup locks her in a cabinet, it shows us that despite what Hiccup just accomplished down in those ice tunnels and despite how smart and brave and kind and heroic he is, he’s still just a boy. He naively locks the Witch in a cabinet which like, if you can’t get out of a locked cabinet are you really a witch? And I love that detail. The Witch, being an absolutely horrible and extremely cunning antagonist, forces him to think more, to get more experience, and that helps him grow into the King that he would be.

Oh yeah, the art piece still exists. This is the scene where Hiccup first sees the Witch. There’s whole illustration of it in the book and everything. So yee :D

Drawing Drawfee Speedraws #2: Halloween Monstersonas, or something

Not quite a monster, more of a creepypasta or something, idk. I had fun with this, although the wings were definitely giving me some difficulty. Theres another layer here with a better sketch ref of this character, I might finish that one and post it as well if i have the time :3

I actually finished this like, a week or two back or so, but I didn’t find a good time to post it then, so here it is now

Drawing Drawfee Speedraws #3: Anime Self-Insert

So. I don’t watch anime. The only anime that I will acknowledge I watched is Pokemon. Yeah my only choice is Pokemon lmao.

However, I’ve also read some of the Pokemon manga and I really loved the XY adventures manga. It had such a cool story and message and it got pretty dark sometimes as well. So thats the style I decided to do!

I actually had an idea for a Pokemon self insert years ago, back then when yknow, I was a cringy middle schooler and all that. I still like the idea. Basically I was a Pokeball artist, like I did custom designs on pokeballs and stuff. Also I have this really pretty gradient uh jacket? thing? idk, but I dont have any other good clothes to go with it so i almost never wear it, but I really like it so my self insert has it here lol.

I struggled a lot doing this. If you look at my old art til now you can see like the necks of the people that I draw just get wider as I went to a bit more of a realistic and proportional style, and the pokemon manga does not have that so it threw me back to square one. Also I’ve been doing more lineless stuff lately so that didn’t help either lmao. I’m really bad at identifying where to line width so I had a lot of trouble with that. Then came the problem of screen tones, which I did not find any for firealpaca! That was fun! I had to convert a bunch of bmp screentone files into png so it was usable in firealpaca.

Still, it was fun, I liked it. and yeah there she is I think I did a decent job on it, could’ve been better, I don’t know if I really got it close to the pokemon manga style, but I definitely tried lmao.
