Quick Doki Doki Literature Club warning
So I’ve been posting about this game quite a bit lately, because I really, really enjoyed this game, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good story and experiencing the game. That being said...
DO NOT TAKE THE WARNINGS LIGHTLY.
It looks fairly cute and harmless on the onset, but there’s a reason why it gives three content warnings at the beginning. Hell, I consider myself pretty neurotypical, and someone who loves certain types of psychological horror, and I literally had to stop playing after a series of events halfway through the game. (I picked it back up a week later after I got really sick for five days...)
So if you want to play it, go in without spoilers, enjoy the ride, but take breaks and take care of your mental health. If you need to stop playing, stop playing. If you’re watching someone’s Let’s Play and you’ve never seen it before, and it gets too much, stop watching. Take care of yourself first. You can always go back if you feel up to it.
It’s definitely a ride. The game is free, and deserves the attention it’s currently getting; It’s about 4-5 hours long (depending on how much you read into things - it took me 10 hours because I really, really like to analyze things). I will give one, and only one gameplay recommendation though - keep your actual game folder open on the side and keep an eye on it while you play this.
Have fun with the Literature Club~
