(prev) Ayranor really wasn’t sure how this would help, but at very least he was buying him some time, and Cas was trying instead of ditching him! He chose to put his trust in Cas that he was going somewhere with this! “Aw come on, we were just trying to have some fun, we never meant to break stuff, that would obviously just lead to people getting mad at us! And we’re already in trouble for it!!” he insisted.

Ayranor’s reasonings just made Mike more mad. “Bullshit!’ he exclaimed, tightening his arm around his neck and continuing on. “Outta my way,” he grumbled as he walked through Cas.

Cas was pleased! It seemed Mike wasn’t suspicious of him, too mad to question why Ayranor would’ve called for him in the first place. He decided to vie for even more favor. 

“So sorry all a’ this happened to ya, Mike. Can I help in any way?”

“Go make sure Lola stays in place until I come back for her,” Mike demanded. 

“Where’re you taking Ayranor?” asked Cas.

“Torture room,” Mike curtly replied.

Gaap nods. “Sounds good to me, I’ll be glad to change out of this outfit.” He says. “And gotcha, I shouldn’t be too long I really don’t have much unpacking or unwinding to do, I’m frankly eager to start researching and testing what I can actually do.”

“The tall black armoire in the corner,” Mike replied. He dug into his pocket to retrieve a key ring with an assortment of keys on it, picking out a small bronze one presumably for the aforementioned armoire. He handed it to Teddy, trusting that he’d get it back to him.

Teddy safely tucked the key in his pocket. Then he looked Gaap over. He was considering asking if he needed anything else but... It may take awhile to dig out Thomas’ robes.

Besides: He needed to avoid being too nice. He didn’t want the other Glornists to think he was a doormat again after Autumn took advantage of him helping with laundry. (Although he still may be in the process of shedding that image so...)

Bowtie bowed his head to Mike, waved at the rest while not caring if they were actually looking, and left to fetch Thomas’ clothes.

(prev) “Oooh gotcha, well as long as it’s not a bother to you I still think it’s a solid plan.” he laughs again. At Cas’ lament Ayranor perks up. “Uh oh! That doesn’t sound great at all, I hope you can keep away from stuff like that.” “Yeah sounds good, need any help getting there?” He offers, tilting his head.

“Ummm.” Cas took a few cautious steps, holding onto the pew backrests. “I should be fine.

Suddenly, the door to the hallway in the back of the nave busted open. Cas couldn’t turn Lola’s neck very well to see, but it was Mike. He looked fresh and clean, sporting a t-shirt and sweatpants, uncharacteristic for this time of day. There was a crack across his glass. And he was pissed off. 

“Who’s there?” Cas asked, still trying to turn around. Mike responded by whipping out a blaster, pointing it at those two morons and wildly letting loose a barrage of shots, set to stun. Lola, and by extension Cas, was hit and again fell to the floor.

(prev) “Oooh, yeah we defo wanna make sure he gets caught in the blast.” he agrees. Ayranor listen’s to Lola’s speech with rapt attention and admiration, he laughs, clapping and giving a hearty “Hell yeah!!” at the end, but at Lola’s comment he becomes puzzled, “Huh? It’s not cold in here, are you getting sick?”

“I better not be!” Lola whined. Then her head started to pound, causing her to tense. Wait… She knew this feeling!

“Agh… Cas! Is that you!?” Lola called out as she began smacking the side of her head. “Stop tryna possess me!!”

“Fine, fine!” a disembodied voice chimed before the ghost of the hour appeared before the two. 

Free from afflictions, Lola irately raised her arms. “What are you doing here, Cas!?”

Cas mirrored the gesture with his arms. “You said you had to talk to me about something!”

“Yeah but how did you get into the deacon quarters?”

“You idiots always ruin the salt barrier and never fix it!”

“Oh…”

Cas cackled before turning his attention to Ayranor. “Howdy, Ayranor! Hope ya don’t mind my intrusion.”

(prev) “Oooh,” Ayranor watched with wrapt fascination. “So can ghosts sleep then? Or is knocking yourself out while in a body like the exception?” He gives a hum. “If you can’t feel the pain of the body , or at least I’m assuming you can’t, that’s a pretty nice way to skip over the sucky experience of getting super hurt, get knocked out, wake up after the healing is done sort of deal, if I ever get messed up like that do me a favour and do that for me,” he laughs.

When Ayranor asked if ghosts could sleep, Cas nodded and added, “It isn’t necessary or beneficial, but yeah.”

He laughed along with Ayranor. “Haha, I can do that for you, sure! Actually, though, I can totally feel pain in a body. Like, Lola’s hurting pretty bad right now. But, I’unno, it’s weird to describe. I can feel it but I’m disconnected from it. Because it’s not my pain, it’s Lola’s. Like…” Cas bent Lola’s arm in a way it shouldn’t bend. “Ouch! Hahaha! Ow! It’s just fascinating.” 

He sighed and deflated. “What does feel terrible is getting hurt as a ghost. Like with salt, or the ghost torture methods that Tris and I devised for Thomas. Hah…” 

He silently stewed in jealousy for a moment. Thomas was able to unlock poltergeist status due to the physical and emotional pain they put him through. But Cas couldn’t bear ghost pain like he could bodily pain. It was embarrassing. Not wanting to dwell on it, he shook Lola’s head and slowly started to stand up, wincing all the while.

“I should really get her to Miriam.”

(prev) It took Ayranor a bit, but in a rare moment of being able to piece things together due to the number of hints, realization hits him. “Sorry Cas, there wasn’t really a way to weasel out of telling him…. also he totally already knew and would’ve been mad at me too for lying,” Ayranor hums and tilts his head, “Other than like, whatever she broke, think Lola’s okay? Also is she like, aware of what’s going on or is she still knocked out? If she is knocked out would she be able to come back while you’re doing that? How’s that work?” He asks, a bombardment of curiosity.

Cas cheered up and smiled as Ayranor asked rapid-fire questions. He was always happy to ignore the most pressing matters at hand to gab about ghost things. 

“She’s totally knocked out cold. But I think she’ll be fine. In my experience, people seem to be unable to regain consciousness as long as I’m possessing them.” He raised Lola’s slightly-bent finger as he went on to regale, “One time I possessed someone who was still conscious, a cook. They resisted a little bit, but I was able to smack their head with a pan. It knocked both of us out! It was rather restful. When I came to, they still seemed to be out.”

(prev) Ayranor relaxed when Percy cheered up again and waves him off, okay good! At least they weren’t also in trouble with Percy! He then turns his attention to Lola, deciding to clear away the fallen candles first to make it less obvious they’d messed up the chandelier before moving to her and roughly shaking his friend, hoping to rouse her from where she was knocked out.

Lola’s body was lifeless until Percival was out of the room. It then stiffened up before she opened her eye and smacked away Ayranor's arms.

“Ow ow OW, stop! Geez, whatever she broke, you’re making it worse!”

She slowly rose to a seated position and grumbled. “Shit. And Bishop Percival’s mad at me…”

Her usual accent and cadence seemed off…

(prev) Ayranor watches as she dashes out and decided to move to the door, ready to let her back in then quickly close it when she returned. “Hope so!” Ayranor smiled back. “Lola knows so much cool stuff, so as long as the timing works right and Mike doesn’t like, figure out things before it’s too late he should get good and mucky!”

Cas snickered. “Hah, poor Mike. He can’t stay unpranked forever.”

Just then, the two heard a short shriek that ended abruptly. It sounded like Lola—her shriek was known to everyone in the Glornch. 

Cas immediately raised his hands in defeat. “Welp, sounds like it failed. I’m out.”

He disappeared.
