Shay refused to go home yet and had been hiding out in an abandoned cabin in the forest off the school grounds for over a week. Even though Leroy had taken her to Foris, she hadn’t gone inside to meet anyone yet. She should have and Shay knew it, but there were a few things that she wanted to check out first. At least, no one was in danger of getting the virus from her since she’d had her vaccine after the outbreak.
Starting to get antsy, she decided to roam towards the campus and was actually thinking about walking into the Fortis building what Shay spotted him. Robert. She stopped in her tracks and just stared for a moment until he noticed her and turned to walk in her direction. Of course he knew she was there. It was surprising to Shay at all. It was a part of who he was.
“Robert.” She took a step back as he approached, not sure how to handle his presence. He was dead in her world and had been for years. It was...odd being near him again. Of course Leroy had told her that Robert was married to the version of her in this world and she had been seeing Dimitri on and off over the past year, so Shay had to restrain herself a little.
