Ability Predictions for Jhin the Deadeye
Looking at the teasers given to us via Garen, Sona, Vi and Zed plus the Virtuoso of the Mind video that just came out, I have some pretty interesting ideas as to what this new champ’s abilities will be like.
To start off, people are speculating that he’s going to be some kind of marksman primary. This is obvious given the gunshots at the beginning of the four champion teasers and the gun showed in the video. For his secondary, I believe he’s going to be a mage. This is evident in what is perceived to be his abilities. His bullets seemed to be imbued in some magical energy, like Lucian’s; unlike Graves, Caitlyn and Jinx which use normal bullets. I can assume that Jhin is an ADC that relies on attack speed and AD to reliably harass and kill opponents, as well as utilizing different “spell” bullets that scale off of AP. Basically, a hybrid champ that’s more reliant on AD and uses AP situationally. I could be wrong and instead of the bullets scaling off of AP, it would scale off of AD. Here’s what I assume his ability bullets might do:
-A blind bullet: This is just a speculation, but looking at the Zed teaser that came out, I guess it would make sense for this type of bullet to blind since there are plants obstructing Zed’s field of vision.
-A snare bullet: This one dismisses the previous blind bullet for a reason, and that reason is because the effects on Zed were similar to the man (possibly also Zed?) in the trailer. In the video, it shows Jhin shooting a man which immediately forces branches to entangle and burst out of him, as well as rooting a tree in place. This could be like Varus ult, where it snares the first target and seeks out the rest. I wouldn’t be surprised to find to see Jhin carrying this ability once he’s released.
-A silence bullet: This one was obvious to me looking at Sona’s teaser and the virtuoso video. It’s a little odd though since Sona is technically already silenced, as she cannot speak. However, I believe this could be a possible ability for Jhin.
-A DOT (Damage Over Time) bullet: My only reasoning for this Vi’s teaser and the first scene of the video. The shot seems to be imbued in some sort of fire magic, and it looks like the roses were sprouting instantaneously, as if it was encompassing her entire back from one shot. I just think Vi looks like she’s on fire. Fire has been known to cause DOT in League, as evident with Ignite, Brand, Liandry’s Torment, etc.
-A lifesteal bullet: My reasoning for this still comes from the video and Garen’s teaser. In the video, it looked like the victim’s essence was being taken away from him. The particles in this scene are similar to the one’s in Garen’s teaser. Garen was shot through the heart; a place that sustains life and provides life throughout the body.
These are my predictions and opinions alone, and I would love to hear what you guys think. I think this new champion will be a great addition to the League of Legends!
