Song Review: Deadgrass - “Alabama Getaway” (Live, Oct. 31, 2024)

At (steal your) face value, doing Grateful Dead music bluegrass-style seems a no-brainer.

But as Deadgrass’ Halloween 2024 rendition of “Alabama Getaway” in New York state - captured on professional video and just released - makes clear, the costume doesn’t always fit.

The quintet has chops and placing electric guitar alongside its acoustic brother, fiddle, bass and banjo is a novel idea. Yet, the presentation is choppy, the vocal harmonies shaky; leaving nothing to make this cover band stand out from the abundance of cover bands helping to keep Dead music alive.

Rubbish grasses There are so many small plants with no use if you look in terms of what they provide humans, and that's nothing so they fall into grass category.
