King Crab 2014 - Northwestern (x)
Weekday Menu Ideas - Week of 1 April 014
Spring brings changeable weather, so it is hard to plan ahead. Invariably, I’ll plan a warm and hearty meal, and the weather will be unexpectedly hot or I’ll go light fruit and soup kind of stuff..and it will snow. So flexibility is the key, and nice middle of the road kind of dishes seem to help.
No particular food screams “spring” to me the way cinnamon and pumpkin and apple herald the coming…

Oh my god why do I do this to myself
watching old episodes of "Deadliest Catch" and I'm watching an episode where the Harrison brothers, Jake and Josh, are getting hazed by the rest of the Cornelia Marie crew and Jake makes this comment "You just remember I'm going to be takin' care of your ass one day!" to his dad. I'm crying, bluh
Respect
So I watch Deadliest Catch (on Discovery) religiously, and one of the main issues is the greenhorns (newbies) who think that respect should just be handed to them. And on tumblr and twitter people get so upset because the veterans wont give them the respect they feel they deserve, well to all these people I would like to say, you don't have a clue about the premis of respect. Respect must be earned, by everyone, in every career, not just crab fishing. Respect is not given to those who don't deserve and earn it. You have to work hard, keep your head down, and do exactly what you're supposed to do. For instance, a greenhorn refused to partake in a supersitious ritual on the boat he was working on, (they all got mohawks) even when the captain asked him to do so, he would'nt, and then he talked trash about the entire crew. And to top it all off, he attacked, from behind, his superior. Are people seriously going to say that that man deserves respec?! Um, I think not. If you go against those above you in any way, no matter how absurd it may seem, you do not deserve respect. I don't want to sound like a dick, but people who beleive respect will just be handed to them on a silver platter are sheltered, delusional, and ignorant, and they are in serious need of a reality check, before they get a very rude awakening.
Ahoy there, all aboard!
I went to easter brunch in San Clemente. They had king crab. I thought of Deadliest Catch. Did I just eat the meat of a bygone fisherman? *edit* No homo...
