5. What fanfic of yours should everyone have read?
All of them?? (lol clearly a joke, i’ve written so many different fandoms/characters/pairings that literally no one on earth but me would care about them all.)
So for DC, I think the most important ones to read are Where the Asphalt Flowers Grow, because that shows exactly how I view young!Stephanie’s life. those wild charms for you or don’t be suspicious, because everyone should love Jason/Steph. The Unseen Garden or to brighten up even the darkest knight, because of the soft Bruce and Steph interactions.
Our Lips Are Sealed, a B99/MCU crossover, is one of my favorite fics I’ve written. I have a secret love of crossovers and had so much fun with this one.
MCU I definitely think the Prank War series, this has been a public service announcement. They’re my most popular fics in that fandom, I think for good reason -- I wrote the light-hearted fun between superheroes I wanted to see and wasn’t getting.
For Teen Wolf, definitely In Desperate Times. I can still reread that fic and it makes me laugh. (By the hit count on it I feel like the entire fandom has already read Every Step You Take, so even though I’m proud of that one I hesitate to ever rec it.)
18. What is your favorite writing prompt?
TROPES. Any and all tropes. I love taking a ridiculous concept and trying to make it work, or just trying to give it my own spin or make it funny in a brand new way. I prefer writing trope fic to AUs or angst any day of the week.
35. What is your favorite review?
I’ve been really blessed with receiving comments, and I’ve been writing fic for a long time now, so I’ve received a lot of fantastic comments. Like, in general, the ones that make me happiest are: long detailed comments that pull out specific passages or talk about specific things that the reader loved (these are SO HELPFUL); comments from readers who yell at me like we’re best friends (if you’re commenting on my fic we BASICALLY ARE); comments on older fic saying stuff like ‘reread this for nostalgia reasons and still love it’ or that it improved their day to reread it or that they remembered it from years ago and sought it out (once i got a comment like this on my birthday and it was a most excellent gift); comments that admit they aren’t a fan of the character or scenario but still loved the story; basically ALL comments.
Honestly though my favorite comments are the ones that end up sparking a friendship. ♥
(If I don’t reply to a comment on a fic, it’s not that I didn’t love and appreciate it, it’s just that I don’t have unlimited time to do fannish things and sometimes prioritize writing new things over replying, and when I get time, feel like it’s been too long to reply.)
43. Guilty pleasure tropes and scenarios?
I’m going to be honest, when it comes to fandom I feel zero guilt about my pleasures. I feel that if you’re not indulging in whatever makes you happiest, you’re not living your fannish life to its fullest. But when it comes to tropes… I love them so much? I am a huge sucker for fake dating, for arranged marriage or undercover or magic spells or basically any trope that takes two characters and forces them to spend time together and learn about each other and become closer and closer. Especially if they’re antagonistic at the beginning. I’m a sucker for an accidental baby acquisition, too, for much the same reasons. Oh, and secret identity reveals! Just secret identity shenanigans in general.
