  “IF YOU WANT,  you could take a picture.  it’ll last longer!”  rocky directs the remark toward the boy  glancing seemingly  NERVOUSLY  her way,  the boy just down the  AISLE  in the grocery store they were in.   the words were sarcastic at their heart,  but the way rocky tips her chin upward and the way the words float in such a chipper manner past her lips make them sound  EARNEST.  ( she’s used to people staring at her.   people just didn’t  GET  trans people in derry. she’d gotten used to it. )    “ --  i don’t have something on my face,  do i?”
