#journal entry 2017-07-10 Out of Gerber! Monday 8:51 PM We ran out of Gerber Turkey for mixing into "duk soup" aka soupies. @ 5pm Mocha & Panda routinely show up at the kitchen feeding station for #dinner This evening was no exception! In fact, these ferrets persisted in asking! As if demanding thy rightful gruel be served! "How do ferrets communicate" I hear a few curious readers asking. In any myriad number of ways! Which herby includes, coming into the kitchen feeding station, standing up begging, or giving me head nods, "what's up? What are you doing?" Directed looks, accompanied by salivating tongue licks, then laying down waiting. For ferrets, mine are pretty patient, as far as #ferrets can be, that is. Telling #Mocha "no more soupies is left" is easy. #panda being a #deafferret although trained in sign language, "out of stock" is not among such signs. Presenting this communication, a challenge. What insues is a comedic attempt to mime or sign w/motions of "no" finger waving signs while pointing & shrugging, at the ferrets pantry spot which sits a box devoid of jars. Then pouring fresh kibble from a nearby bag into a small size dish w/much pointing following apologies, kisses, & praise, after she dashed off to her stash, ate it. But upon swift return, she was back at it again, asking for soupies! But persistence paid off... My mom called to remind me for a 100th time that I need to go to Logon airport on Wednesday & asked what I was doing. "Making lunch for me & ferrets keep asking me for theirs, at my feet then standing up begging when I look down." Welp, even though my mom had to gettup early am for work the next day, she came by the apt to drop off 10 jars of Gerber Turkey! Soon as Mocha & Panda saw the bag, they ran beside, demanding I put it down for immediate inspection! Panda nosed pryi jar lid in a So I opened a couple jars to let them have a tiny bit to satisfy them as I mixed up a quick batch of their soupies! Not too much because too much straight #Gerber #Turkey is not good & gives them muddy poopies. Gotta add the mix-ins.
