Stanford senior Jules Chan is extremely hungover from Halloweekend when she discovers that one of her best friends is missing, and the other is dead. Several hundred miles away, Sam Winchester thinks that he’s left behind a completely normal life—so when Jules calls him in a panic, claiming to know what killed Jess, he and Dean make a u-turn and book it back to Palo Alto.
There, Jules tells him the truth: her mother was a monster hunter. Seven years ago, their house burned down, killing Patty Chan. The only things that survived were in a safe: social security cards, birth certificates, and her Patty’s journal. Dean and Sam Winchester’s search for their missing father might be Jules’ key to figuring out what killed her mother, and getting her revenge.
