Dean Sampson {Paul Walker} She’s All That (1999)
Paul Walkers character from She’s All That, Dean reminds me so much of Steve Saunders from 90210 for some reason. But shout out to Paul Walker for being a total babe, even when playing someone who is mostly a dick.

There is a great difference between looking delicate and being delicate, and no one knew that as well as Hollywood’s carefully curated elite. To look delicate was the work of illusion: an innocent twist of hair, a brush of powder across the cheeks, and in this, Heather Bannon had achieved expertise. Being delicate was another thing altogether, a fragility of spirit, a brittleness that crumbled beneath the blows of stick and stone. Being delicate meant wearing skin made of eggshell, not merely made to look like eggshell. Being truly delicate meant being able to understand and respect and handle delicate things. Heather was not made to handle delicate things.
Chief among the delicate things Heather was not made to handle was the clasp on this pearl necklace. It was a tiny golden thing, mere filament, and every time Heather had to put it on she cursed the arbitrary decision the world seemed to have made, that feminine was beauty was delicacy. She made a mental note to put a new string of pearls on her Christmas list. One with a chunky clasp this time. One that her mother would hate.
"You don’t have to wear pearls, you know," Dean called out from the closet, where Heather knew he was struggling with his own neckwear. "I have to wear a tie, but you can wear whatever necklace you want.”
"Yes," Heather called back, "why not just switch from this carefully selected pearl necklace chosen after hours of agonizing by myself and a team of stylists? Sure, I’ll have to pick out a new dress and new shoes, and then call the makeup artists back to adjust the shading, but I can at least try to find one that would still go with this hair I spent four hours having done. That way, we’ll only miss the first hour of the awards." The two pieces of the clasp slid apart again, and Heather cursed and tried to realign the edge of her fingernail with the tab.
Standing there in her evening gown, elbows raised beside her ears, with her hair cascading over her shoulder like a rain of fire, struggling with the clasp of her necklace like a fat-fingered five year old, Heather had never felt like more of a sham. “Girls look up to me,” she called back. “They look at photos of me in magazines and on tumblr and they sigh and think ‘if only I could be as elegant as Heather Bannon.’” Another snap of a failed attempt. “If only they could see me now.”
"They’d say that you’ve never looked more beautiful." Heather whipped her head around and nearly collided with Dean’s face, which was hovering over her shoulder. His bow tie hung, rumpled and limp, around his neck. "Because that’s what I think about you right now." He placed his hands gently over Heather’s, taking the necklace from his fingers, and a fiddling moment later he let go. The string of pearls hung around her neck, just below her clavicle. "You could ask for help sometimes you know. It’s just the two of us. No one would ever know the great Heather Bannon lowered herself to ask for help from her husband.”
Heather pursed her lips against the smile struggling to break out on them. “Well, you’re one to talk,” she said, taking the ends of his bowtie in her hands and deftly knotting it. She straightened it and brushed her hands down the front of his lapels. “You look like a prince.”
"And you,” Dean replied with a kind smile, “look like the frontrunner for the ET best dressed list. That is, if we make it in time for the red carpet.”
"Well then we’d better hurry," she said, taking his arm. "I’d hate for the world to miss the rare sight of Brock Hard with his pants on."
"You know," Dean said as they walked out the door. "You are mean to me. Quite mean. You are very lucky I’m not a more delicate man."
"Don’t I know it."
Paul Walker on She's All That is Dean Sampson.
I mean Brian Oconner is sexy but Dean Sampson will always be my favorite.
