Muppet Fact #1554
The Muppet Movie Soundtrack became certified Gold five months after it released. According to The Importance of Jim Henson, the album sold over one million units by 1980, but was not certified Platinum. However, the RIAA website currently has it listed as 0.5 million units sold.
