My questions:

1) What was/is your favorite subject in school? Why?

In high school I really loved History and English.  My AP English teacher was the best teacher I’ve ever had and taught me how to be a good writer and to have excellent standards for anything I produced.  I was an Animal Science major in college and I think my favorite class was Dairy Production because we learned about every aspect of the dairy industry from cow anatomy to dairy economics and we got to visit different dairies every week for our labs.

2) How do you spend your free time when you’re not on tumblr?

I’m an avid CrossFitter and weightlifter and I usually work out once or twice a day.  I also really like to take my dogs out for hikes and I love spending time at the barn with my baby horse, Elendil :)

3) List some of your favorite books.

4) Have you ever had a “game changing” moment in your life? If so (and you feel comfortable) share it.

I think I’ve had a few of these, but one specifically comes to mind.  It was when my first girlfriend broke up with me.  And my “moment” was more like…. a few years.  She was my first serious relationship and we dated for over a year.  Even though it wasn’t the healthiest of relationships, when she broke it off, it pretty much destroyed me.  After months and months of being really depressed and finding all sorts of unhealthy ways to cope, I finally emerged a stronger, self-confident, independent person.  As much as it hurt, that break-up really forced me to grow up and to realize that I need to love myself before I can be in a healthy relationship with any other person, romantic or not.  Now, almost five years later, I can definitely say that I love myself and I have surrounded myself with amazing friends who love me and with whom I can be completely myself. 

5) Is there anyone you feel like you couldn’t live without? Why is this person so special to you?

There are two people that come to mind, excluding my parents.  They are my two former roommates, Maggie and Bri.  They are two of my very best friends and I’ve been through so much shit with both of them.  I lived with Maggie for two years and she was really my first “best friend” after the shit storm that was my first two years of college.  Bri and I only met a few times before we moved in together in the summer of 2012, but we hit it off almost immediately and became pretty much inseparable.  Both of these girls are amazing and have helped me grow so much as a person and a friend.  They are two of the only people I know who really, genuinely care about my well-being and I can tell them literally anything without being afraid that they’ll judge me or make me feel bad.  I love them both so much and I miss them like crazy.

6) Pretty sure I tagged mostly fandom blogs. What’s your favorite show, episode, and character from that show?

OMG this is so hard.  Ok I’d have to say my favorite show is Doctor Who and my favorite episode is probably “The Eleventh Hour” because it was the first DW episode I ever watched and it always reminds me of how I fell completely in love with The Doctor and everything about DW.  

7) If you could live anywhere in the world where would you choose? Why?

Honestly, right where I live.  The San Francisco Bay Area is such a beautiful, amazing place to live.  It’s incredibly diverse, the weather is perfect, and this is the only place I’ve ever really felt at home.  I really hope I can stay in this area when I find a job, because it would break my heart to move away.

8) Do you have any special talents?

I don’t know how special they are, but I can play trumpet and lift heavy weights! Oh and I’m also pretty good at riding/training horses because I’ve been doing it literally my entire life. 

9) If you could choose to have any talent what would you choose?

I wish I could dance!  I’m totally the awkward white person who really wants to dance, but just has no natural ability.  Plus, I get super embarrassed (unless I’m drunk).

10) Are you keeping a secret for someone right now? If so you think that person should continue to keep it secret or should they get it off their chest?

I am kinda keeping a secret for one of my best friends.  She’s dating a guy who’s still married.  He’s filed for a divorce and he hasn’t lived with his wife for like a year, so they’re basically broken up, but on paper he’s still married.  My friend doesn’t want anyone else to know because she’s afraid they’ll be judged, and I’m afraid she’s probably right.  So it’s probably in her best interest to keep that secret until the divorce is finalized.

11) What was the hardest decision you ever had to make?

I had to sell my upper-level competition horse who I owned for almost 7 years.  He was my best friend and we went through a whole lot of shit together, but I just couldn’t afford to keep him and I couldn’t afford to compete any more.  He was still young and healthy enough to compete and he really loved to do it, so I sold him to a girl who would be able to take him to shows and let him keep competing.

Questions for me were:

1) What was/is your favorite subject in school? Why?

It's always been a tie between English (as a foreign language) and Linguistics.

2) How do you spend your free time when your not on tumblr?

That's not a lot of time, and I mostly watch shows and films and concerts, read a lot of fanfics and on rare occasions actually go out with few friends that I still have in the 'real' world.

3) List some of your favorite books.

Haven't been reading books for a long while, except for compulsary ones for the lectures, but I'd say some of my all time faves are 1984 by G. Orwell, and many and many various sci-fi novels back from the eighties.

4) Have you ever had a “game changing” moment in your life? If so (and you feel comfortable) share it.

Kinda yeah, but I'm still waiting for a real one, cause boy does my life need changing. One was when I found out that I've depression, another when I realised I had social anxiety and, more importantly, that I wasn't alone in this, and I joined a forum and met some people and an actual good friend. Also, just recently, I had a complicated appendix surgery, which in turn made me start my long self promised change of eating habbits, which eill hopefully help me lose some weight and feel healthier.

5) Is there anyone you feel like you couldn’t live without? Why is this person so special to you?

Sadly maybe so, but it's my mom, we're just really similar and have an unhealthy codependent relationship where we just have to share our happy or bad moments daily. Mostly I just blabber to her about my fandoms all the time and it's getting ridiculous but what can you do.

6) Pretty sure I tagged mostly fandom blogs. What’s your favorite show, episode, and character from that show?

I'll go with Supernatural, as there's many other fave shows of mine, and at the moment my favourite episode is a tie between I Know What You Did Last Summer and Mystery Spot. One of my all time favourite characters is definitely Sam :)

7) If you could live anywhere in the world where would you choose? Why?

I'd thought about different places at different periods of my life, but recently I've just really wanted to try it out in Sweden or Denmark, basically, Scandinavia just cause it seems like a good place based on social statistics, although I'm not sure about the colder summers, hehe.

8) Do you have any special talents?

Not sure, not really I guess, nothing special, just a false and inflated sense of self-importance and specialty which quickly changes into some awful self-hatred, so basically I'd say I'm best at hating myself and pretending I don't? Also, daydreaming and non-acceptance of 'reality'

9) If you could choose to have any talent what would you choose?

I have some musical talents, but I haven't worked on them enough and feel like I've wasted my any potential in becoming a singer / musician / composer, like I've dreamed since I was little. So you know what, I'd take an ability to hold on to my dreams any day..

10) Are you keeping a secret for someone right now? If so you think that person should continue to keep it secret or should they get it off their chest?

No big secrets, no. The one I'm keeping from someone, that person doesn't know, so it isn't bothering them, just me sometimes.

11) What was the hardest decision you ever had to make?

Wow, I don't know, when I think about it, it's obvious I've been running away from having to make serious decisions for all my life.. But I guess deciding where and what to study was hard, and I wouldn't even call that decision successful either.

So, I'm actually really bad about answering these/doing them, so I'm going to try to go digging for the ones I have yet to do, starting with this lovely one fromdeansingchester! Oh, and I won't be tagging anyone, but feel free to answer the questions so that I can learn more about y'all as well! :)

Question I was given:

1) What was/is your favorite subject in school? Why?

This is actually pretty funny, but for years I was convinced that I was an English nerd, but according to my college transcript, I accidentally got a minor in History, so I'm going to say that.  Now, as for the why. I've always been fascinated with different cultures, beliefs, systems, etc., and how those change over time. Thankfully, that was cultivated by having an amazing family who always makes sure that we stop at at least one historical sight per vacation trip. This basically means that thanks to my numerous trips up to New York to visit family, I have been to almost every American Revolutionary point of interest and read every single sign in them, which makes me the know-it-all in class who corrects the teacher when they say something incorrect, lol.  TL;DR, I'm a history nerd because visiting museums and historical/cultural sights are always my favorite things about my vacations. 

2) How do you spend your free time when your not on tumblr?

Usually, if I'm not on Tumblr or the internet, I'm working or sleeping, to be honest. I also occasionally do stuff with the family, but since I don't have many friends who live within thirty minutes of my house, it pretty much stops there. 

3) List some of your favorite books. It's actually a lot easier for me to mention authors instead of books, so here goes: Jane Austen, William Shakespeare, Arthur Conan Doyle, John Green, Eva Ibbotson, Scott Westerfeld, JK Rowling, Agatha Christie, Rick Riordan, Susanne Collins (especially Gregor the Overlander), Cassandra Clare, and Debbie Viguie, Of course, those are only the ones I remember, so there are probably more.  

4) Have you ever had a “game changing” moment in your life? If so (and you feel comfortable) share it.

I've actually had quite a few of those moments, but the most recent for me was when I was forced to drop out of school for a year, due to medical reasons. It was really tough for me because having good grades, getting a degree, and ending up at a great job have always been important goals in my life and I felt like I had failed on all accounts. Thankfully, I have an amazing family and employers, so even though I lost all of my scholarships, I can still work towards my degree, just a bit slower than planned. 

5) Is there anyone you feel like you couldn’t live without? Why is this person so special to you? Honestly, this one is really tough for me. I'm very bad at friendships and relationships in general because I have so much anxiety, so I just tend to do my best to not let people in too closely. So, right now, sadly, I think the answer is "no," but I hope to someday be able to be that close to someone. 

6) Pretty sure I tagged mostly fandom blogs. What’s your favorite show, episode, and character from that show?

Hmm, another really tough one... I'm probably best described as a SuperWhoLock Trekkie, so I'll do all four. 

Supernatural- I really enjoyed "Ghostfacers" and my favorite character is Castiel.

Doctor Who- Right now, my favorites are Doomsday and Shakespeare Code. My favorite character is definitely the TARDIS. 

Sherlock- Favorite Episode: Ah! This was the hardest one! Uhm, The Empty Hearse, because it's newer? Character: I LOVE Sherlock, but I am really starting to love Anderson as well, which really scares me. 

Star Trek- Episode: The Trouble with Tribbles. Character: Q or Data. 

7) If you could live anywhere in the world where would you choose? Why?

I'm kind of a wandering soul, so probably nowhere for too long. Definitely a few big cities like New York, Chicago, New Orleans, London, Sydney, etc., but also intersperse it with quite suburbs or rural areas.  

8) Do you have any special talents?

None that I can think of. If anyone has any ideas, please share them with me. 

9) If you could choose to have any talent what would you choose?

Probably to be more creative artistically. I mean, I can't even draw a stick figure well, and I would love to be able to sew/knit/crochet. 

10) Are you keeping a secret for someone right now? If so you think that person should continue to keep it secret or should they get it off their chest?

I actually don't think I am at the moment. The one secret I had, finally got shared with the world (not by me), so I'm good. :)

11) What was the hardest decision you ever had to make?

To finally come clean to my parents about my panic attacks and massive anxiety issues, as well as start the process of dealing with the root issues, one of which involves serious psychological and verbal abuse (not from family). It was tough and hurt a lot, but I'm finally on the road to recovery and that's a good thing.

Hello there! Your taste in books is possibly one of the best on tumblr and its one of the primary reasons I follow you. I was wondering if you would be willing to offer suggestions. Im just finishing the way of kings now and I dont have a backup :P

ohohohoh, BUCKLE UP FUCKTRUCK

okay so my first 3 recommendations off the top of my head, and they should keep you for A WHILE:

1) Discworld.  If you read fantasy, Discworld is mandatory.  If you don't read fantasy, start.  With Discworld.

2) Wild Cards.  It's a series that GRRM did way before ASOIAF, and it's based on campaigns he and his writer friends (who co-write, it's a collaborative thing) ran in...some pen-and-paper RPG system, and it's basically a better take on Heroes.

3) Temeraire.  Napoleonic wars, but in an AU where dragons are, and always have been, real.  Think D&D dragons, minus the magic.  Big, really smart, pretty greedy flying lizards, various sizes, about 20% of all have SOME kind of projectile attack, ranging from acid spit to fire breath to...well.  That would be telling...

Now, if you're not married to PURE written word, I have 3 more suggestions:

1) Lucifer. It's a spinoff from Sandman by Neil Gaiman (you may have heard of him (that reminds me, Good Omens)).  It's FANTASTIC.

2) Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire.  Bear with it, the art gets MUCH better.  Babby's First Webcomic, for me.

and finally

3) (drumroll please) Hamsteak.  I know, I know, you've probably heard ALL ABOUT it by now (and hey, maybe you read it, I can't know for sure), but beyond all the fandom (and canon) bullshit, it's truly epic in several senses of the word.  As someone on 4ch once said, "It's about 4 kids forming friendships over the internet.  Elsewhere, a dispute over office dress codes leads to the death of billions."  That description, in all honesty, is 100% accurate but about .0000001% encapsulating.

No I'm not nearly that badass :P I had the mohawk in college haha but I did have like highlighter/neon orange hair for a while in high school! The nuns weren't too happy about it lol
