So, I’m incredibly behind on TADC (haven’t watched any of it since Episode 2), meaning that I genuinely don’t understand where the trans woman Jax headcanon came from. While I’m not against the concept, I think people should consider the implications of that insisting a male character who’s a dick to everyone is canonically a trans woman. That, and I’m not a fan of “estrogen would fix him” jokes, mostly because it seems to be less about headcanoning the character as a trans woman (fine), and more like “I need this character to be a woman so can I feel morally justified in liking him”.
so in Episode 5 Jax is revealed to be insecure about his masculinity, is deeply embarrased to be put in a maid dress and in episode 6 his room is shown to be bright pink and magenta. Either the torment is meant to be “stop denying you’re a woman” or “you will never be a real man” and consider the transphobic shit Zooble gets hit with both are equally likely.

This is like the person who imagined Percy Jackson as a Latina trans woman and called anyone who like canon percy a racist transmisoginist because she was ashamed to be reminded that blorbo is a man.
Listen I headcanon characters as transfem all the damn time. I have an au where David Haller is genderfluid, I know canonically he’s GNC at most (We do not speak of the time his alters united and used he/they pronouns, Marvel forgot about it). I certainly remember this man is canonically cis when interacting with the 5 other fans.
people LOVE justifying a characters misogyny by “oh they’re trans” as if misogyny is inherent to sall trans people and not just a trait of neobaeddelism. People also get upset when transition, like a woman’s love for heterosexual romancd, doesnt magically fix a person.
I do love that one fanart of Jax as a 4chan trans girl who is wearing knee socks and and shirt dress nursing a can of monster saying “I told you cisfoids and theyfabs to stay out of my room” or something like that because FINALLY a trans headcanon that interacts with the source material. The misogyny wont go away.
