This Easter, I heard through swung-open doors congregants singing as one Were you there? Were you there? Let me tell you, Lan, I wasn’t; I was in a car driving north passing San Quentin listening to Dylan sing the presidents, too, must sometimes have to stand naked.

Something about a sick child

It’s really a troubling experience when a child get sick. I’m talking about my nephew here. I was really terrified because his temperature went up to 103 F under my watch. Believe me or not I’ve seen the worst case scenario being in the medical field. But when it comes to your own nephew, my gosh, I was terrified as a freak but trying to be still and calm and find intervention that will get that fever down. Was uttering prayer for him while I carry him in my arms. I’m not a mother yet and I cannot bear the thought of if my own child get sick. I was trying to feed him and give as much liquids he can tolerate and after that, I gave him his medicine and whoosh! Poor me and of course my nephew he was so sick that he couldn’t help himself and suddenly I was being showered by a lot of indigested food. I bet he got so sick and dizzy that he has to release it. TMI. But you know what? I care less of it as long as my dear nephew felt better afterwards. Still have a bit of the fever and after 3 hours later, he was up and about running like he’s never been sick. Quick recovery. Thanking God for it.

Dear Nephew,

You are the most adorable thing I have ever seen. I love you. On even my worst days you put a smile on my face and I go to bed at night knowing that the world is okay with you in it. I love the way you are filled with such wonder and excitement, but I also love your gentleness. You are already such an amazing big brother to your baby sister, and I know that as you two grow up you will protect her and guide her. I know that she will always be safe with you as her big brother. You are going to grow into such an amazing young man, and I can't wait to watch it happen. You already make me so proud. I love you, and I will never stop loving you.
