Shockingly, before

You did indeed give me the idea for Red Line, but not in the way you think. Twas in the comments of a post I made asking for ideas of something short and new to write.

I can't find the post or any screenshots of it, but I said something to the effect of "I need to write something or I'm going to explode" and you gave several ideas. I think I combined several ideas (Raph centric, body swap, I don't remember what else)

I did, however, make Red Line extra silly in response to you telling me some of the very mean things you'll do in your fic

WHO GETS SACRIFICED TO THE STAIRCASE PRISON.

The easy option would be lloyd.

It cant be cole or zane, theyre tied too much to arin and kai in the element of tournaments. And isolating zane doesnt do much for his character. Not in the same way confronting kai would do.

Nya or Jay could work but ugh.

If Nya then you lose nya and kai. And jay would 100% have his big crash out and honestly be A PROBLEM TM during the tournament. Cole would be mega distracted between nya missing and jay being an erratic wildcard. Jay would go from most positive to most negative during this time. (The kids are scared and concerned).

If jay you lose jay vs kai avenge nya moment and you'd get back to square one feral nya which would also be A PROBLEM TM for the tournament. Cole constantly running around being NYA NO to her. I think if jay was sacrificed then nya WOULD defeat kai. (Or maybe this crushes her further? Maybe losing jay and being hit with losing her brother makes her stop. Maybe she for once doesnt want to choose violence as the answer. Maybe losing to kai completely makes her lose her spark for awhile. Until jay returns in the most epic way possible)

WHICH HOLD ON. THE PARRALELS BETWEEN NYA AND KAI BOTH CHANGING IN SOME WAY. BETWEEN FERAL NYA AND EVIL KAI. CURLY WE ARE GENIUSES.

If either of them, this could be a chance for lloyd having moments with them. Maybe he's still their master for the tournament in some way and spends his time keeping jay/nya on track. For nya it'd be empathising with her for having a family member turn evil. For jay it'd be losing the love of your life.

But imagine lloyd being isolated...and still getting visions. Yet he cant tell anyone about them. (I mean. He could tell bonzle but the info would be useless to her). He cant warn his friends. He begins to use the visions to keep up with whats going on. Even tho theyre terrifying. Bc his visions start to bleed the past and the future together. Ptsd lloyd real.

And ofc his friends would still be upset that lloyd is gone but itd be treated closer to everyone's reaction in canon I think. Jay might take it the hardest bc it is yet another tragedy thrown in his face that he has to fake being alright with. And then evil kai enters the chat, defeats nya, and he shatters.

OKAY I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS

As much as I love the idea of sending Nya or Jay to Stair Hell... we lose too many moments. I agree that it gets much too complicated when we let Jay and Nya miss the tournament.

BUT LLOYD. LLOYD. I LOVE HIM USING HIS VISIONS TO WATCH OVER HIS FRIENDS EVEN IF IT DRIVES HIM CRAZY.

Kai and Zane.

Zane seeing a part of himself in evil!kai. A person with no memory, confused, lost, and ended up with the wrong people. A person who doesnt quite know who they are and their place in the world. A person that someone else took advantage of for their own personal gain. A person manipulated into hurting other people.

A person who will regret their choices. And if/when they regain their memories, a person that has to live with the consequences of a broken promise they vowed to keep.

NO BUT SERIOUSLY THAT'S BRILLIANT. KAI AND ZANE. KAI AND ZANE. Zane would be DESPERATE to get him back because he refuses to let Kai fall as far as he did. The entire tournament he's chasing after Kai.

"Kai, do NOT do this!"

"Stop following me around you stupid robot!"

"I am merely assisting! Trying to preemptively prevent the consequences of your actions."

"Ugh, you're worse than that crazy lady and whiny guy. Shut up, I'm gonna torch some random children or something."

"I'M TRYING TO SAVE YOU, IDIOT!" (Because of course we're giving Zane his emotions and humanity back)

Hello my beloved Pixel!!! Of course three isn't too much, feel free to ask me as much as you want :}

🥺is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between my characters that never fails to put me in my feels?

I love an injured character being cared for, the soft and steady love just makes me melt. I saw hurt/comfort and took it too literally XD

Additionally, and this one's kinda weird because I hate seeing characters be separated, I love reunions. When characters are just so happy to see each other again and have one another back in their lives

Lots.

Most of them were feeble attempts at birthday presents for you and others, my dear Pixel. Idk if you've noticed but I tend to psych myself out.

There was a bruise one, a Donnie-does-a-magic-trick one (maybe I'll go back to it someday), a Raph-gets-crushed one, a couple Nya ones, and a Mikey-has-a-nightmare one. But the biggest one was Loopty Loops in the Time Space Continuum.

That one was a Time Loop fic! Donnie was going to get caught in a time loop and eventually drag Mikey into it. I didn't have much more than that though. I actually started working on it before I began writing Spider's Web, but SWSA was so much clearer in my mind and so much more interesting that I abandoned it completely

🤗 advice to fanfic writers who have just started?

Don't start on a blank page. Conjuring up words out of the white void feels absolutely impossible. Have an outline just below, or a specific line you are writing toward, or even just a few paragraphs of key smashes. It makes it feel like you've already begun, and the white void is much less intimidating
