As a Holiday gift I might’ve published the prologue and first three chapters of my long CRK fanfic on wattpad if anyone is interested :)
I’m very very new to creative writing so it might not be the best written but constructive criticism is always welcome!!! It’s very Snapdragon and Tarte Tatin centric but it heavily involves all of the LOTRD gang (and friends). Like chapter 2 is just pitaya and tarte. Also there’s HollyTatin :)
Read the warnings though because it does involve blood and violence I’m not sure if it’s very descriptive but to be safe it’s marked as mature on wattpad
I’ll probably post on Ao3 too (when I set up my account fully) and when I have more chapters finished but I figured i should post these chapters for constructive criticism :)
For now this is just a textpost if anyone’s interested in reading but I have art planned for these intros. I’m gonna make a more in depth post on this with the art but some people seemed interested in my au so I figured I’d post just the character descriptions I have now
Pitaya Dragon Cookie
Human name: “Prue DeRose”
Age: as old as time
Description: One of the five legendary dragons stuck in the body of a mere human. After their quest to regain their powers, they are starting to gain more human emotions which troubles them greatly. They are torn between caring for the humans they’ve met, and their sense of self as a dragon which they’ve distinguished as being stronger and superior to everything around them. They are beginning to understand the full negative impacts dragons have wrought on humanity after the attack on dragon city and feel responsible for the attack as they knew it would burn. To counteract these feelings of guilt, they isolate themselves by trying to go after dark enchantress alone or relapse into menacing local adventurers and towns. Yet, they also find themselves drawn to protecting human’s they’ve made connections with, especially with the threat of longan’s awakening coming to light. Prue hadn’t questioned their nature much in their long life, simply thinking that dragons should act strong, mighty, and impulsive above all else. Perhaps they’d been turned into a human and weakened for a reason, and they’ll realize how important all life forms are.
Tarte Tatin Cookie
Human name: Sir Tatienne “Taty” Tatin
Age: 63
Description: Tatienne has been a dragon hunter since her friends were burned and eaten alive by one years ago. The group was inexperienced and drunk when they were ambushed. Taty froze in front of the monster as it opened its mouth to scorch her, and one of her friends pushed her out of the way. Taty had been the sole survivor of the attack after being rescued by hunters, though she was badly burned. Fueled with revenge, she took four years to recover and train, modifying a grenade launcher into a handheld cannon. She suffers from ptsd and survivors guilt, vowing to never work with others for fear of getting them hurt. Taty was knighted by the Hollyberry kingdom for her bravery in fighting dragons, but she rescinded the title and buried her medals with her deceased friends. She cares for people so deeply that she won’t get close to anyone as it would break her if something bad happened to them. Taty is heartbroken after the attack on dragon city, setting off on her own and throwing herself into hunting as many dragons as possible until her body gives out. She values herself very little and expects to die fighting alone. Thankfully, her new friends and a tiny dragon won’t leave her side.
Royal Margarine Cookie
Human name: Royal “Marc” de Marquis
Age: 24
Description: Marc is an anxious wyvern rider and snapdragon’s main caretaker in their youth. Marc gained a fear of dragons after he lost his parents during a dragon attack when he was very young. Raised by the eldress of his clan, he had too many expectations placed on his shoulders and was never given proper help for his anxiety, inadvertently making him run away. He wants to be a dragon rider to aid people after the devastation of dragon city, but he’s uncertain how the clan will treat him. At heart he’s a generous and caring person willing to befriend dragon, wyvern, or human. He feels less pressure to put on a boastful persona after the attack, as he’s made friends that respect him for who he truly is. He adores taking care of snapdragon and is one of the main reasons they turn out so kindhearted.
Wildberry Cookie
Human name: Sir Willis de La Cour
Age: 28
Description: Willis was orphaned and lived on the streets of the Hollyberry kingdom until he was 15 when Queen Holly took him in. He joined the Hollyberry army undergoing rigorous training to become the queen’s guard. Willis, like Tatienne, despises dragons as he’d witnessed many dragon attacks while on the streets, and while working in the palace as the red dragon terrorized the kingdom. He hasn’t forgiven Prue and trusts them very little. Willis aided dragon city’s residents after the attack, witnessing the horrifying aftermath which has reinforced his view on working with dragons as a whole. Post beast-yeast, Willis lost vision in his right eye and suffers from ptsd, confiding in Holly and Taty on how to deal with it.
Snapdragon Cookie
Human name: Snapdragon (remains the same)
Age: newborn
Description: A prophecy spread down by the elders of dragon city told of a dragon who would emerge and bring the world into chaos on the day “the world is engulfed in a sea of fire”. Despite this prophecy however, snapdragon is simply a sweet ball of joy completely enamored by humans. They have odd quirks such as a very human appearance, a gentle demeanor, and the ability to recognize dragon city’s residents. Snapdragon is one of the only dragons that has white scleras and has the ability to heal others. Tatienne was the first person snapdragon saw when they hatched and they imprinted on her, not leaving her side and believing she’s their mother (which is why Prue said they were calling for their mom when they ran to her)
Hollyberry Cookie
Human name: Queen Mother Holly Boivin, Alias- Sweetlin Pink
Age: 1000
Description: Holly is the former Queen of the Hollyberry kingdom and the bearer of the Soul Gem of Passion. She is immortal and bestowed arcane strength. After the War of Ashes, the Queen suffers from survivors guilt using alcohol to cope. She blames herself for the growing instability of her kingdom and the rampant dragon attacks. Her and Taty were close, but Holly eventually parted ways with her as she began to have romantic feelings for her and didn’t know what to do. Her ptsd also made her withdraw from her closest friends and family. Holly is terrified that her vision in beast yeast of her friend’s dying is real and fears she’s condemned them to more suffering. Her vision of Tatienne and Snapdragon particularly, torments her. She is unsure if she should tell them, or if there is a way to prevent their fates. Perhaps avoiding fate causes one to run into it, or something worse, however.
