1.) Who is one person who really inspires you? And why?
I've answered this question a lot. My mom inspires me, the people of Tumblr inspire me, friends inspire me, and even a few people who have no idea I exist.
2.) What is something that was a huge learning experience for you? And how did it better yourself?
Actually, I was just talking about this. My current job working with K-2 kids at an elementary is a huge learning experience. It has shown me things I will and will not hopefully instill in my own children. A lot of my students don't come from much and lack the TLC they deserve. I strive to someday be the best mom I can be, to read to my children, and to show them unconditional love.
3.) If you are in a relationship with someone, what is your favorite thing about them?
His passion for cooking (and not just because I love to eat). Whenever he cooks or is trying out some new recipe he has come up with, you can just sense his excitement and love for it.
4.) If you could travel anywhere for 1 week, and it was completely paid for, where would you want to go?
I would want to go back to Italy... to some mom and pop town where I'll need to learn a bit of Italian, where I can drink wine and eat lots of delicious food, and where I can take a pottery class taught by someone's grandmother or grandfather.
5.) Do you have a good relationship with your parents?
I am really close to my mom, and pretty close to my step-dad, but I'm not very close to my biological dad or step-mom. I didn't meet him until I was a teenager, so our relationship has always been weird. We're on good terms though.
6.) What are 3 things you really like about yourself?
My dedication to things (and determination), my passion to help others, and my ability to look on the bright side of things.
7.) What are three things you’d like to improve about yourself?
Physically, I want to lose a few more pounds and tone. I want my body to get in the best shape it's ever been in. In everyday life, however, I want to time manage better and get more done. I'm also working on controlling my stress better and working out instead of eating those emotions.
8.) Favorite quote?
This one has always stuck with me, "Without struggle, there is no gain." Someday I would like to get it as a tattoo.
9.) What is something that motivates you?
Success. And proving people wrong. All my life, people told me I would never amount to anything. My mom was just shy of 22 when she had me, and apparently that meant I would end up a high-school dropout with a few kids of my own. Nope.
10.) What is something you’d like to see change in the world today?
I know we hear this time and time again, but I really do want to see change in the world's eating habits aka America's. It breaks my heart when I see young kids struggling to walk because they are already borderline obese. If we can start teaching our kids at a young age proper eating habits, things could be a lot different. That, however, would mean teaching proper eating habits to the parents first.
