It was a good week
It was a fun and full weekend! After I got off work Friday I took Addie and my niece to see Moana 2 and then met my SIL at the McDonalds close by so the girls could run around for a bit. While we were chatting I found out that it was my niece’s first time going to see a movie in theaters and I was absolutely delighted that I got to have that experience with her!
Saturday morning I was invited to Trisha’s house last minute for some Christmas baking and I made the first batch of fudge for the year! It’s so soft and creamy 🤌🏻
Saturday afternoon when Jamie got off work I hung out with her while she went shopping for some new jeans and that was fun. We hit the valley mall because she hadn’t been there in years.
Sunday I was on worship so that was an early morning for rehearsal, played both services, and then stuck around for 2 hours for the Christmas choir rehearsal and then as soon as we got home all of Rory’s brothers and wives and kids came over and the kids all made gingerbread cookies while the adults hung out and caught up.
Including Jennifer’s birthday party a couple weeks ago this is only the second time in 5 years all 4 of the Sinclair boys have been together. It was so great! My heart was full. I’m looking forward to having everyone over again right before Christmas!
I stayed home sick today; not because I’m miserable or anything but because this cold has taken my voice and I can’t answer phones. So instead of working while the kids were at Homelink I had a lazy day hanging out with Ror, snuggling Maverick, watching crochet tutorials, and watching Ted Lasso. It was lovely.
Started the morning going into the office for some unnecessary training and then after lunch Ror and I took the kids and went Christmas tree hunting! Ror had a SBX gift card he wanted to use so we stopped at one and let the kids all order something only to be told their gift card reader wasn’t working and so we paid out of pocket. Oh well. The kids were all happy. We found a tree and then I decided that since we were in town we should go ahead and look for Christmas jammies. I usually have them ordered and packed away by now and this year I hadn’t even looked. We stopped at Old Navy and Target before finding something everyone loved at Fred Meyer. While we were at ON looking for pjs there was a pretty gold sequined dress I was eyeing and Ror ended up getting it for me. It’s so pretty but I really don’t know when I’ll ever wear it. Since Ulta was right next to ON I popped over and got some The Ordinary products to try, a blush, and primer. I’ve never tried a liquid blush before; a little goes a long way. It was another good day and I was much better at taking pics 👍🏻
Today was lovely and I didn’t take nearly enough pictures!
Jamie stopped by the house with tea and coffee for Ror and I and then she stayed and chatted for a bit which I always love. We went over to Sam’s house for games and 2 rounds into Killer Bunnies I get a text from my BIL Sam that on his way to our house his car broke down. Lame! He and Ror were able to get it fixed but that took about an hour so Sam and I took my nieces and nephew back to her house and we played Fluxx instead since it was a faster paced game and Killer Bunnies can take a bit. It was still a lot of fun! We left the Starkey’s around lunchtime and shortly after we got home Rory and Sam got back and Sam’s car was running. 🙌🏻 How stressful to breakdown on Thanksgiving with 3 young kids but alls well that ends well.
My sibling El and their wife also joined us and it was a great afternoon/evening of hanging out and letting the cousins play and eating good food. We watched our annual Thanksgiving movie While You Were Sleeping and then as soon as it was over everyone headed out. Jamie stopped by again to drop off some of her pretzel salad and to pick up a slice of peanut butter pie I’d set aside for her and she ended up staying another hour. I really love living so close to my two best friends and getting to see them on holidays even though we don’t ‘celebrate’ them together and I REALLY love that my BIL brought his kids out to celebrate with us today. 🥹🥰
It’s been a productive afternoon! I put some funky/disco-esque type music on and got the cornbread made so I can turn it into stuffing tomorrow, the eggs have been boiled and are ready to be deviled tomorrow, I’ve made my peanut butter pie and it’s firming up in the fridge, and the zuppa toscana soup I’m making for dinner is almost done!
.
Jennifer’s party was a huge success! People started showing up to the venue a little before 6 and were hanging out and mingling for about 40 minutes before dinner was served. After dinner the cake was brought out and everyone sang to her and while everyone was eating cake Rory and I both gave a little toast/speech about what a phenomenal young woman Jen is and how proud of her we are. I forgot my notes so instead of trying to remember what I wrote I kept it short and sweet and told her I’d put the rest in a card for her. Once Jen finished eating she opened the dancing portion of the night by dancing with me and the rest of her family members to a certain part of the Taylor Swift song The Best Day. 🥹 After that it was an open dance floor and let me tell you, it stayed full for the entire 1.5 hours we had left!
At the end of the night she felt thoroughly celebrated and completely danced out 👌🏻
Unrelated to her birthday…..
Jen got accepted to her college of choice and will be attending Whitworth University next year! She was offered a scholarship for half her tuition per year for 4 years which is a huge help but starting next week she’ll have to start applying for grants and other scholarships to help cover the rest. Whitworth has more she can apply for too, that was just one they gave her off the bat. 🙌🏻 I can’t believe my baby is going off to college next year.
And just like that she’s 18 🥹
She’s been launching into adulthood for the last couple of years and while it hasn’t been all rainbows and sunshine I am SO proud of her and the young woman she is! She is so vivacious, fun, driven, intelligent, and kind.
Ror and I were talking to her last night about what she’s looking forward to most about being a legal adult now and she said it was being able to sign her own papers 😂 she’s been ‘adulting’ for long enough the only thing she hasn’t been able to do has been that. 👍🏻
It’s sweater weather so I pulled out my favorite one!
Do you have anything on your sexual bucket list?
I’ve crossed pretty much everything off that I’m currently curious about but I’m sure I’ll get curious about something new down the road
hairy beast?
I have Italian grandpa eyebrows when left unattended, my body hair grows back within 2 days after being waxed instead of the normal 7-10 days, I have thick hair follicles….. hairy breast is an unfortunate but accurate description
Showers or baths?
I shower daily but for relaxing definitely a bath. One that is just a smidge too hot and leaves you all flushed and frizzy and noodle-esque
I don’t think that’s what planting the zucchini means
I can guess what was being asked but that was a weird way of putting it and I can figure out how to answer that tactfully so I’m just beating around the bush
Top 3 positions?
I love me some intense eye contact so anything that can accommodate that and I’m good 🥰
Where would you WANT to plant the zucchini?
In the garden?
Where is the wildest place you’ve ever gotten jiggy with it?
No wild locations but the typical car, living room, kitchen….
