Marlene needed to talk, needed to be busy. Nights like these were difficult. She knew her family was probably somewhere in the room. She knew her mother was probably sat at some table thinking how radiant her oldest would have looked, thinking how her oldest would have thrived and made conversation and connection. Her brother was probably in deep debate like their father.
