OnS Theories (12S). Eleventh Theory - Reasons behind the progenitors pain due to the demon’s scream
Well, hello everyone, I know I’ve been slacking as of late, the weather is really hot over here so, it literally makes me feel lazy haha x)
Anyways, I think it’s time to keep going with the theories!
This theory will be rather short but it has a quite intriguing thing I believe no one has guessed, therefore, let’s begin!!
As many might have noticed, the progenitors felt pain once they heard the demon’s scream from afar; the reason behind this, just as Guren stated is the Death Wail. The Death Wail is described as a shriek only fellow vampires and demons can hear, but why?
For that, let’s compare some aspects of the real world with the story; it is well known that animals tend to hear frecuencies while humans can’t; therefore, this same aspect works with vampires and demons, and you might wonder why if humans have cursed gears.
The reason why humans can’t hear the frecuencies the Death Wail emits is due to the fact their senses aren’t enhanced despite having a cursed gears; if humans start losing their humanity with constant drugs, eventually, their senses will be enhanced to the level of a vampire or a demon, but now, returning to the first question, vampires and demons alike are related.
Vampire are beings with enhanced senses and, as a society itself, they can understand certain characteristics that belong only to them alone, same applies to demons due to the fact they were previously vampires; their physical body might be long gone but their presence and power remains.
Therefore, demons and vampires alike, are able to hear high frencuencies and since the Death Wail has a high frecuence that humans can’t hear except them, which quite actually relates to how dogs end up suffering when they hear high frecuencies. (Of course, this is a comparison)
Now, another question that might pop out is the fact as if other demons will hear the Death Wail
For that, it’s possible they can but at the same time, it’s possible they don’t, but why?
The main reason is that they’re within a cursed gear, they can’t manifest like Noya has been manifesting in the past chapters; the fact that Noya was able to physically manifest, is the main reason why he was able to hear the Death Wail.
Among this, there’s something curious with the Vampire Progenitors. But, what could it be?
For this, I’d like to ask the fandom something:
“If the Death Wail is something vampires and demons alike can hear, why weren’t they able to hear other vampires being turned into demons when the cursed gears started to be in development?!
A rather curious question but as crazy it is, there are two possible answers for this
First possible answer
For the first answer to the question, the reason why they weren’t able to hear it might be related to the fact that back then, vampires weren’t deeply involved in human affairs, they weren’t paying mind to where exactly vampires went, furthermore, it is still unknown where exactly Mahiru started creating the cursed gears, which might be a reason why other vampires weren’t able to hear the Death Wail.
Though, despite being one of the reasons, there’s something off with this answer, what do I mean?
How exactly and when did Mahiru end up merging demons with weapons to create cursed gears?
Did demons exist back then or did Mahiru chased them down?
Despite this answer being somewhat realistic, it lacks some elements, which make it seem less likely to answer the first question, therefore, let’s head out with the second possible answer.
Second possible answer
For this, as to why the other vampires didn’t hear the Death Wail, it’s highly possible the First Progenitor, before and after losing his physical body, it’s likely he might have turned several vampires into demons; how can I state this if Mahiru was the one who created the cursed gears?
Mahiru was a genious, but, we don’t know how she adquired the demons for such task, therefore, it’s possible the First had aimed that from the very begining, besides, Mahiru took the First Progenitor inside so she could let Shinoa live.
Returning to the main answer of the second possibility, it’s likely the First took the desired test subjects for demon conversion in an area no other vampire could hear such shriek or Death Wail; and eventually, with the flow of time, he was able to make Mahiru Hiragi create the cursed gears for humanity itself.
